It may be connected. Honestly, I am hoping zetsu had been around since Madara's time and he was the one who saved Madara ... that way it kinda explained how Tobi (when we thought was Madara) survived that long. But after recent events, we may find out that zetsu is one of obito's creations. You may be right I guess.

Honestly, at this point, not sure what to expect. Normally I would agree with you fully. It cannot be Obito because the timeline would be too constrained to allow any major development. However, if Tobi is only Obito (if there was just one Tobi all along), then I would not exclude him being able to create zetsu ... I mean Tobi himself stated that he gave Nagato the rinnegan...or rather insinuated.
