Even TenTen can beat Itachi if Kishi writes it that way, All those endless threats who can beat who are pointless. Look at the battles Shikamaru fought. He uses the terrain, intelligence and preperation to his advantage. There is no way to predict who will win a battle. Hidan was immortal .. that's it .. he never showed he had any skills in Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, or Genjutsu. His power was based around the curse ritual thing, and taking advantage of his immortality. And knowing what his abilities were ahead of time played a huge role into Shikamaru beating Hidan. If it weren't for the fact that his team had fought and revealed his abilities during their first encounter ... Hidan vs. Shikamaru would've been a totally different fight, atleast i think. :D :D :D

Actually, Zetsu didn't confirm it...Itachi confirmed it himself. He said in Part I while fleeing from Jiraiya that if him and Kisame together came at Jiraiya, either Jiraiya would win or all three would be killed in the struggle. Remember, Jiraiya may be MUCH older then them, but he has a higher chakra level. This is known, because Pa toad said that you have to have high chakra levels in order to use senjutsu. He is able to summon Gamabunta and that doesnt tire him out. Kisame is also stated to have a high chakra level, but Jiraiya has much more battle experience then Kisame, or Itachi for that matter.
