Is it just me or does young Obito remind you a lot of naruto? They both have same hairstyle, same goofiness and personality, same drive to protect friends and same love triangle. Also I bet you Obito will end up saving kakashi in the end just like he did when he was a child, and actually die for real this time probably protecting them from Edo madara sasuke or someone else .

I liked it. Kishi is slowly tying up loose ends. I think next chapter we're going to see how Rin died, given the foreshadowing at the end of the chapter, and how it pushed him over the edge. Whatever happens with Kakashi vs Obito I think will be the foreshadow for Naruto vs Sasuke. The choice of words he spoke about only getting stronger with Kakashi is interesting. Naruto made the same point during his change in chakra nature training. Said that only his wind can improve Sasuke's fire and that the two of them are a perfect match.

This chapter was very informative BUT it still leaves me a little confused. I understand that Madara did survive his fight with the 1st and how he managed to stay alive after all these years. I also understand that it's very likely Madara gave his eyes to Nagato. It somewhat expalins how Obito survived, how he was treated and is leading to why he chose a different path.

What I don't understand is how Madara lived to such a ripe old age yet he was resurrected as a young man. My understanding was that you were revived the way you were before death, at the very least, same age range.

Someone in this forum got bashed for saying so but I still think Izuna plays some part in this storyline. I don't know how it would fit
YET but I don't think Izuna died when everyone thinks he did.....we'll see.

Kabuto likely did something to Madara to revive him in such a state. He said he upgraded him to past his prime. He also appears to have augmented Hashirama's power within Madara to give him Wood Release on or near Hashirama's own scale. Madara wanted to get revived via Samsara of Heavenly Life technique, but was resurrected with Edo Tensei.

With the Rinnegan, Sharingan, Mokuton, his "greater than prime" body back, being immortal, and having infinite chakra, this was probably a more ideal body than Madara was asking Nagato to do for him. So he broke the connection. Madara may not have been expecting to be revived by Nagato in his "healthy" body, but was revived by Kabuto and basically though, "this is like asking for a quarter and getting a dollar".

yes your right...sad part is that they are no longer friends....i kinda wish both of them didn't choose vengeance wouldve been nice to see them actually fight like when all 4 of them were younger :/

He didn't have the Kyuubi actually facing Minato.

And then if the Kyuubi was there and Minato uses a contract seal on Tobi, the Kyuubi would have still been there. It would have been an even more hectic situation.

I am not denying that Tobi got owned without the Kyuubi being there, but the thing is he obviously wasn't fighting at the potential he had then as he could not use his greatest weapon against Minato.

I think Obito would bear all the brainwashing Madara does while recovering in the lair, and he goes back to the village to meet Kakashi and Rin, only to find that Rin was dead, Kakashi couldn't protect her despite the sharingan, and Kakashi becoming quite popular as the "Copy Ninja who copied 1000 techniques". Obito then rehashes Madara's words and becomes Tobi

But again, I am finding it difficult to believe that Obito could actually become strong enough to control the kyuubi. From this chapter, Madara wasn't any version of Tobi, and he wasn't active enough to train Obito. Kishi cannot pull off saying "Obito became strong and later attacked Konoha for the kyuubi", it would be ridiculous..

you right the fox was attacking the village....minato and obito went else where to fight yes...and it wouldve been harder to fight him with the fox and trying to save kushina and son but as i recall right before all that happened after there very 1st skirmish he released the ninetails and also he did give him a challenge.....i also never said he fought minato with the fox...but either way it was a great battle to bad it wasn't longer...and sad how my boy gave his life but thats

Or may be, Rin gets kidnapped by some other village to get info about Obito's abandoned body to retrieve the sharingan, and root might've decided to let her die or kill her to not let the info coming out, and thereby protect Konoha. Kakashi might've not done anything about it (although he tried his best). And when Obito comes to know about this, he reaches his breaking point when he decides to end this cycle of "Winners" and "Losers"..

By his eyes Borrowed he means that they are his brothers eyes comon guys you do recall he was going blind you know.. and in my opinion he lost one of his eyes because he used izanagi to escape his near death experience from the 1st hokage.

Ahhhhhh, thanks for the explaination and clearing things up for me. Now all I need to do is just need to accept the fact that Izuna's only role in the story was giving Madara his eyes.

I really liked the pace of this chapter, it's perfect for the biggest revelation of the series. This chapter actually told us a lot. Madara also hinted many things. "Neither you nor I will be leaving this place.... With our bodies" He's very specific with what he says, almost like he's said it before... perhaps... to Nagato?

im kind of hoping, izuna is somehow in play here....like he is the one that stole madara's eyes not vice versa. Maybe madara happen to come across a new eye by luck and implanted it into him....Its a long shot but you never know with narutoverse.

Madara gave his eyes to someone else (Nagato) and put another sharingan (just one) in his eye socket (he is d leader of uchiha so dont question how he got the eye... if Danzo could get 10 on his arm then I dont see how Madara cldnt have gotten just one)

Also, When Madara was reincarnated by Edo tensei, he had his eyes back (Kabuto mentioned that he has been completed from what he was in his prime/old age)... :flaw: And pls look at the pictures when you read; Itachi got his 2 eyes (sharingan) and then used one for Izanami

From earlier chapters we know that obito turned evil after he found out that Rin died and Kakashi didn't kept his promise of protecting Rin but what I can't figure out is how did Madara saved Obito if he can't leave that damn cave???
Still from the looks of it , seems that madara and obito were good men... Madara fighting for his clansmen rights because the uchiha was one of the strongest clans and he couldn't stand idly and see them thrown away like garbage, and Obito just wanted to protect his friends and his village but in the end Life just disappointed them and they lost everything
After you think about it a little in the naruto series the battle isn't between good and evil its between reality and fairy tails

Sorry but Madara is just a really reallllllllly sore loser - if things went the other way he'd be just fine and dandy and not give a shite for the people who would have suffered for his 'success'...he played his hand - he lossed and refuses to accept that his way was not the right way. So much so that he now wants to go with this big jutsu. He can't even accept death...sorry he's awesome when fighting but his ideals are pitiful. If his entire clan agreed with him I'd say what he was doing made sense...but they didn't. Therefore he acted for himself and NOT to their desire, his results though good intentioned led him to the hell that he claims to be in....
