      It would be really sad to see Kakashi die against Obito but I would think it was appropriate for the occasion.

      I mean if Kakashi stays alive then he will definately be considered to become the next Hokage.

      Naruto is immensely stronger but the elders dont see strength as being the only reason to become Hokage.
      A person needs pragmatism, good reasoning, and a clear head to become Hokage.
      All which Naruto sorely lacks of.

      Even if Sakura get to the battlefield, She needs time to heal Kakashi time they don't have Obito will not wait the alliance would have to fight Obito for quiet a time till Kakashi was even at 50% of His power to fight Obito.
