Chapter 15 - The Famous Saloon!
Slate slowly walks towards the saloon while Mia is watching him from the ground. He takes up a lighter, and turns it on.
Slate: Let’s … burn it down…
Mia: Wait, not that! I beg y-
She is suddenly grabbed by her long black hair, and dragged backwards. It’s The Sand Cowboys member Kace who grabs it, and push her violently back on the ground.
Kace: God, you’re annoying…
The citizens watch the situation from their homes; scared and not knowing what to do.
Random Woman: S-shouldn’t we help her..?
Random Man: What can we do? They are a dangerous cowboy group… we have no chance of winning against them…
Mia cries while looking at the saloon which is about to be burned down.
Mia: (Damn it… Dad is still sleeping in there…)
Slate: The houses here have been dried up after being in the heat all these years…
He lightly throws the turned on lighter towards the saloon.
Slate: …They’ll probably burn down just by being in contact with fire…
The small lighter falls slowly down, and Mia watches it in fear.
-Flashback (11 years ago)-
Mia: Dad, you know where mom is?
A 16 year old Mia with much shorter hair and her father walk in the middle of the street on their way to the saloon.
Father: She is in the saloon as always… You know she loves working there.
People shouting and sound of mugs breaking are heard inside the saloon. Mia’s father sighs, and they walk in. The place is filled with drunken customers, mostly males.
Father: Theresa! Where are you!?
Mother Theresa: I’m here, sweetie!
A drunken woman wobbles towards them while holding two mugs filled with beer. She looks a lot like Mia, but has brown hair, and much tanner skin.
Father: Theresa, you shouldn’t drink like this every day… It’s not good for you.
She laughs, and throws one of the mugs on the floor.
Mother Theresa: …But I want to!
She runs of like a child, and starts giving her customers more drinks. Mia’s father walks out in embarrassment; leaving Mia in the bar alone with the drunken people.
Random drunk man: Hey, Theresa! Give us another beer over here!
Mother Theresa: Coming right up!
She runs over with a huge smile, and gives them their drinks.
Mother Theresa: What brings you guys over to this little town?
They laugh and drink up their beer before answering her question.
Random drunk man: Oh, we are just cowboys who are-
The man who talks is suddenly punched in the face, and falls backwards. Mia runs over to her mom and stops her from attacking him anymore.
Mia: Mom, stop! You know I don’t like it when you do this!
His face is all swollen up, and he looks at Theresa in both anger and surprise.
Random drunk man: What the hell was that for, you little..!?
She doesn’t listen to Mia, and walks over to the cowboy. She grabs his west, drags him over to the entrance, and throws him out with strength alone. The other customers laugh as this wasn’t the first time.
She looks at the man who is now lying on the ground outside of the saloon. He sweeps blood from his nose and mouth.
Mother Theresa: I seriously hate cowboys…
