well if you remember at the end of the anime c2 was talking to lelouch and if you remember earlier in the series c2 said she cant talk to the dead so i think he might be alive.but in the manga they never showed that scene

It'd be good to see him dead. I'm a Light fanboy. However, him being alive would be nice for the story.
