Well this is a theory based on some facts I gather from Manga pages. Before posting I view most of the threads in this section. But if such theory is created before, please request mods to delete/close this thread rather than criticizing me for redundant thread and if not then go ahead and leave your valuable comments..

To start off see this image...

It is clear that, this jutsu has something to do with the moon...
We all know that pain wanted to collect all 9 bijjuus and create a weapon that will be strong enough to destroy entire land in an instant...So there is a possibility that pain wanted to destroy the Moon....

Moon that was created by sage of six paths to seal something...
Look this image...

In the image above, there is one demon, who has four sharingans...
May be Tobi wanted pain to use bijjuss to destroy moon and then revive that demon by using Rinne Tensei.......

If any one else wants to ask such question, I will tell why moon is far from earth...
It was created on earth and then it was pushed away from earth by using Shinra Tensei, so no other shinobi can get to it...

it's pretty known that the sharingan have some connection to the moon, after all itachi's techniques are base on the japanese mithology.
i guess there's some secret about the sharingan that we don't know yet. ectually i thinks that there's a big connection between the sharingan, ren'ngan and the byakugan.

Wow, you completely missed the point of this thread...
Not only itachis techs but entire manga is based on Japanese mythology...
There is a connection between all 3 eye techs, its not wat you thinks, but manga tell us...
But that is not the point..

its not make sense...Look at the image, I've given,,,Sage of six paths created moon using chibaku tensei...Its given in manga...Its not my imagination...

Considering nagatos expression, It could be safely assume that, rikudo use chibaku tensei to seal it....

Maybe according to Kishi, this is how the moon in naruto was made.

Remember the original sage of 6 paths is ancient, dating back to the time when the bijuus roamed free.

Maybe this is the reason why kyubi fears the sharingan so much. He remembers that demon with the four sharingan eyes.

Which manga are you reading.....Manga tells Sage of six paths created moon, but still you ask the same question.....
Well I'll explain why moon is that far....
rikudo created moon and seal that demon in it...Then used Shinra tensei to push it away from earth so no other shinobi can get to it.....

Thats I dont think is the plan....Itachi said evrey MS has unique techs, if thats true, Tobi cant use Tsukuyomi.......
