last chapter let you know that "they" were in trouble.

This. i dont believe genjutsu or he "accidently" hit her with the chidori. He has the sharingan so accident is not an option. It was probably staged by madara all along in order to turn Obito against the leaf. i also think obito will find this out soon and possibly help take out madara.

lets hope would be good to see kakashi and obito teaming up again

It is plausible that Kakashi had to kill Rin, I mean who knows what kind of person she became after losing Obito, and I'm guessing Kakashi didn't return her feelings at all. I mean she was like 12. They are kids after all -_-

I think they were both going to die fighting the mist ninjas and it was either they both die or kakashi survive by killing rin to awaken the mangekyou sharingan so that he could kill the mist. I mean Rin was clearly both obito and kakashi's closest friend.

I think Kakashi killing Rin was a complete accident through use of an imperfect/incompleted jutsu. When Obito sees Rin with all the black fuzzy around her I think he is seeing from Kakashi's point of view. We know the speed required to use the chidori causes tunnel/blurry vision so I think Kakashi used the Chidori before he could fully master it and hit Rin with it by accident.

Obito said to Kakashi "Because you let Rin die" instead of "You killed Rin" because it would have basically spoiled these next chapters. Makes sense now.

i thing that rin tried to kill kakashi because she went mad realizing that obito always had a crush on her and she never even gave him the time of day. maybe madara used genjutsu to tamper with her mind as well but she coouldnt stand it and decided that kakashi was to blame so she tried to kill him from behind and that he spun around expecting it. Thats why he was sad and she looked surprised in the final picture. I also think that because madara allowed obito to go and knew that he would return, because he tampered with Rins mind, he knew how the scene would play out and told white zetsu to spy on rin and kakashi until the time was right. But id prefer that nobody was under
genjutsu or else it would just ruin the moment of tension thats created at the end of the chapter

I don't believe that Kakashi killed Rin. Obito was tricked by the Zetzu clone, probably ordered by Madara to stage this. Why, because if Obito left Madara his plan would not have gone how he wanted it to. In the pages before the last page it seems that Obito can see through Kakashi's eye. So it might be Zetzu showing Obito another Zetzu's point of view. Since Zetzu was attached to Obito during this. This could be an explination of how "Kakashi" killed Rin. Also if you look there are no mist ninja around. So where did they go? This chapter is not really that exciting, but it shows how easy it was for Madara to put the pieces together for his master plan.

I figured I'd actually try posting an idea that I've heard around the base, but add some ideas to it.

I think this is most likely a set up. Obito told Zetsu about Kakashi and Rin, but that picture of their team was when he was still in Konoha, right? Obito mentioning Rin and Kakashi shouldn't have mattered, yet as soon as Zetsu returned, he said Rin and Kakashi were in danger. The fact that the two of them were in danger shouldn't have even been important to the Zetsu, since he barely knew much about them.

From what we know there was a dozen or more Mist ninjas surrounding Kakashi and Rin. Rin was a medical ninja, so she wouldn't leap at the Mist ninja like Kakashi would. Rin would try to support Kakashi as a medic, so it could have mainly been Kakashi fighting against the Mist ninja. Going up against that many ninja, even if Rin was helping a lot, what would the possibility of them both surviving until Obito arrived be? I'm not sure how far Obito had to travel, but besides Kakashi hurting Rin, shouldn't the both of them had at least some noticeable injuries?

That's why I think it's a set up. I'm not going to say Kakashi killed her, since Obito said Kakashi let her die, not killed her. Another theory I have is a clone or transformation, even though it is not likely at all. I only saw that because on the last page we can see the sign of a battlefield in the back. Mainly smoke. With all that smoke there is always a chance of a ninja using transformation to make it appear that Kakashi harmed Rin.

The possibility of him doing it on purpose is there as well, but I haven't come up with much reasons as to why he would do it on purpose. From the shock and reaction from Rin, I don't think she was a spy for the Mist ninja.

I think one thing we re all overlooking is obito being able to see rin die before he got there. So that is one indicator that we should have known that kakashi killed her. THIS, I believe, is the most important thing in the chapter. If obito *being an uchiha* was able to SPY on konoha through kakashi because he had his other eye would make it perfect for obito to get all the intel he needed to invade konoha and basically train with minato without actually being there. Hence why he was able to learn minatos tactics and fight him so well at such a young age! HOLY SHIT I JUST BLEW MY OWN MIND! Let me know what you think!

Remember Obito said "you let Rin die" instead of "You killed Rin!" I think Madara put Kakashi under genjutsu or atleast took part in the reason why she died because of when he said you WILL be back.

Kakashi either killed Rin accidentally (due to the mist in the battlefield causing vision problems and his subsequent strike on an ally)

or

Kakashi killed Rin deliberately because she was a traitor (This might probably be the reason why he left the ANBU)

It wasn't genjutsu, and Rin wasn't a spy. I say Kakashi was doing something like what Kisame did to his comrades when they were surrounded. He didn't want the enemies to get info about Konoha from her.

it seems like Obito actually can see what Kakashi does with the sharingan eye he gave him. If you notice Obito thought he was having a vision of Rin dieing, but it was actually Kakashi's point of view as he was killing Rin ( as if Obito was looking through Kakashi's eye ).
