I think Kakashi killing Rin was a complete accident through use of an imperfect/incompleted jutsu. When Obito sees Rin with all the black fuzzy around her I think he is seeing from Kakashi's point of view. We know the speed required to use the chidori causes tunnel/blurry vision so I think Kakashi used the Chidori before he could fully master it and hit Rin with it by accident.

Kakashi says he completes the jutsu as soon as obito gives him the sharingan and he is fighting all those stone ninja. i don't think an imperfected jutsu is the cause.
and if kakashi had killed rin with chidori/raikiri/whatever it was or is called, he probably never would have used it again

There's something that has been puzzling me for a while and to find out more about it I read chapter 139, from page 8 to 10 you can see Kakashi standing infront of a grave while being accompanied by a woman.
That woman asks Kakashi if he's here because of Obito and then we never see her again, now what if that woman is actually Rin?
Ok sure they don't look alike and their haircolor is different, but then again it could be possible that she used a jutsu similar to the one Tsunade used to change her appearance, or maybe she just changed her haircolor?
I mean c'mon we got ninjas that can revive the dead, destroy a whole village, throw down meteors and breath fire so changing your haircolor shouldn't be out of the question.
Especially since Nagato did it with his six paths of pain, they all had the same haircolor as Yahiko.

you're clearly miss understood the way to unlock that kind of sharingan is to like feel regrets and feel like Sasuke felt when he was told the truth about
ITachi and Kakashi didn't have mangekyou sharingan until Shippuden

itachi already had the mangekyo sharingan since his first appearance in the manga.

In chapter 605 obito is going to return to madara and in 606 kishi is going to show us sasuke or naruto

why not draw a non-cut mask if it isn't going to help the plot???

Three theories that could possibly answer your qestion.

Number 1: Rin herself didn't die at that time but the person known as Rin died, just like Obito did he doesn't care who he is and he called himself Tobi, Madara and No-One.

Number 2: Rin died sometimes later and Kakashi wasn't able to save her, that would explain why Kakashi looked so guilty when Obito told him that he let Rin die.

Number 3: Or maybe she simply had to die for some unknown reason and Kakashi knew about it but couldn't do anything, that could also explain why he looked so guilty.

When obito woke up,he was babbling about rin and kakashi.white zetsu ask obito about the details of rin and kakashi and took advantage of it and use a perfect transformation justu to play obitos feeling and later ask madara to help him to become a strong ninja.

it looks like kakashi was crying and during the entired manga kakashi has never wept. I dont think kakashi could be under a genjutsu he had the sharingan after all. Now the white zetzu said was they were fighting like a dozens jounin/anbu mist ninjas which means that those two either were on a spy mission or they are posibble be a white zetzu copie

Imo, all I see is assurance in the return of Obito to Madera. Whether its a genjutsu or substitution, the reality no longer exists of a happy reunion of Obito to his family, his team, his love. Instead, things will go as planned.... Madera excaping the prison with the help of a newly formed ally. No way did Kakashi turn on the person whose grave he visited religiously. No way does Minato all of a sudden become "unavailable". No way does Madera let his first glimmer of freedom slip from his grasp.

I made a thread about what I think happened in this chapter, but I'll repeat it here in case that thread does'nt catch on. Kakashi is a Zetsu clone. Not sure about Rin. The "vision" Obito experienced was not from Kakashi's Sharingan, it was the "recording" ability that Zetsu has. Since Obito is technically half Zetsu, he is able to "watch" what Zetsu communicates to him telepathically which is exactly what Zetsu explains before they leave Madara's hideout. That explains why it looked all pixelated like a tv screen or something and why Kakashi's mask is still CUT in the last panel, because it's a Zetsu. We've always wondered what Zetsu meant earlier in the story when he said he "recorded" events for Tobi to "watch" later. Now we know how it works. Through Zetsu's telepathy.

My explanation is Both Kakashi and Rin are zetsu clones....Remember Zetsu has the ability to clone a ninja right down to his chakra flow like he did in the great ninja war when he attacked the medical ninja's camp.
I think Zetsu made a kakashi and Rin cloned and created scene so that obito would see it....I dont think Madara would leave anything to chance....He only let Obito go with zetsu because he already planned all this in order to turn Obito over to the dark side....Also the timing is too perfect...There is no way Zetsu would take Obito to a happy ended because then Madara plan would fail and he would never return.

Conclusion: They are both Zetsu clones creating a dramatic scene to sway obito against the leaf and kakashi...also awakening his MS

Agreed. Kakashi crying and the whole eye connection are intended for us to understand that this was really Kakashi, not a clone or doppleganger. Rin could still be a Zetsu clone that tricked Kakashi into killing her. Although, I'll admit, she is crying too... Evidence that Rin is still alive could be found in 139 (as somebody else posted earlier) where some woman is talking with Kakashi at Obito's grave and we never see her again. Although, this woman doesn't look like Rin at all.

If this is the case, Kakashi was probably pretty shaken up by having to kill a Rin clone and made Rin go into hiding/change her appearance after this incident to keep his promise to Obito since somebody seemed to have it out for her. I'm still holding out for Rin being alive and becoming an integral part of the current time story. It would be a nice twist and a good transition for a character we have yet to meet, such as "the one who knows everything".

it could be obito is under a genjitsu since they are fighting the mist and they even say its not rain, plus he says he starts seeing things. i personally think Madara is obviously in control of the mist already and had them do this on purpose.

This is going to be the turning point though.
Obito will go back to madara and be evil, thinking rin can be resurrected in the moon eye plan.
but in the end, kakashi will explain what really happened and turn obito good to help the good guys.
