i was thinking the same.
remember OBITO said to kakashi " you LET rin die"
if kakashi truly under his conscience he will say " you KILLED rin"
so he is under some mind control something.

this was a deep chapter i will say that i just cant see kakashi doing that on his own but he must have been under something or else this is really confusing to me

I don't think Rin was betraying the Leaf. If that were the case, then why would Kakashi be standing at both hers and Obito's graves? I don't think he would honor a traitor like that, friend or not. I'd go along with another of the theories: 1) he was under a genjutsu or 2) Rin was actually a Zetsu clone. Of course, the emotional angst for Kakashi that would come from Rin being a spy and having to kill her would be awesome...just not feasible to me. Either way, I definitely agree that Madara has something to do with it. He was WAAAAYYYY to confident that Obito would come back to him.

it was an interesting chapter...it can be either one of three things
1. It was a staged fight made by the white zetsu clones
2. Rin was a secret spy for another village and Kakashi was given orders to eliminate her
3. Kakashi was under some sort of genjutsu
yet its kinda weird for a two man team to be in battle it still doesn't make sense to me so i lean more to a rigged fight created by zetsu clones.

I can't believe Kakashi killed Rin. Allthough he couldn't of done it willingly. Either he was under a genjitsu or she betrayed the village or something, but for Obito to see that... I don't know how he wouldn't try to attack Kakashi and how they wouldn't meet then and there, but perhaps he doesn't recognize him because of the hair or if Zetsu takes over and puts the mask on him/any combination of that. Can't wait for next weeks chapter.

For the record, I always had faith in Kishi for making Tobi Obito. You just saw why.

What if Obito's MS abilities activited, because of his close proximity with Kakashi and the senju body armor, and that caused Kakashi's arm, in the middle of an attack against a hidden mist ninja, to be sent to another dimension/towards the object Obito was thinking about the most....Rin...

theories that could explain why & who killed rin 1. kakashi uses chidori and hits rin by mistake during the fight) 2.madara is controlling kakashi eye some how) 3.madara & zetsu plan this whole scam in the first place) 4.zetsu clones kakashi and uses his powers to kill rin) 5. or this is one bad genjutsu control by yours truly madara

What about the Mist ninjas that Zetsu mentioned?.. Doesn't make sense.

Maybe it was a special mission to kakashi from Minato, Minato found out that rin was a spy from another village then minato gave the mission to kakashi.
Also Madara knew rin was a spy and so he said "you will come here, and that time you will thank me sincerely".

kakashi and rin were sent to that place where was supposed the mist ninjas were there.
Finally kakashi kills rin with his chidori.

Or kakashi just was blind and couldn't see to rin lol.

in my opinion we see that kakashi is crieng in the last page which led me to believe that kakashi killed rin believing that he will awaken the MANGEKYO sharingan and killed his closest friend that was alive . This theory can be disapproven because obito had said u let rin die instead of saying u killed rin

It wasn't genjutsu, and Rin wasn't a spy. I say Kakashi was doing something like what Kisame did to his comrades when they were surrounded. He didn't want the enemies to get info about Konoha from her.

What if run was a zetsu clone n attacked kakashi n he defended himself n killed the zetsu/rin n late found her dead body? Minato was off chasing after other zetsu cloned ppl. Just a thought

I don't think you can skip from a two tomoe sharingan to a Mangekyo. I may be wrong.
