I think it is an accident that Kakashi kills Rin he in the present and the past looks devastated at what he did. And both him and Obito saw Rins death so MS might awaken.

I'm new to this whole members thing so I have no clue how to ***** you. I would also like to add on to your post by saying it could possibly be a Zetsu clone. If you look closely at the last page for chapter 604, Kakashi's mask still has a cut next to his left eye. You would think that he would simply just replace the mask with another one and yet it's there.

i think it just got broke off in the fight as they do sometimes .. even if he was a zetzu clone he would copy the head band like he did in bees fight where they swapped round to infiltrate into the hidden cloud village.

The idea of kakashi killing rin isn't that hard to believe, Kakashi's father chose his teammates over the mission and was shun by the village. Kakashi being all about the rules and regulations (during his younger years) its obvious he wouldn't hesitate to kill a team mate for the sake of the mission. So as not to follow in his fathers footsteps.

Also worthy points to remember;

* When Kakashi first discovered Tobi was was Obito and questioned why Obito's response was "because you let rin die" (this could be a translation error) which doesn't add up to the recent events (kakashi's chidori through rin's chest)

He can't be white zetsu. Because in the Spore techinque, He may copy one's identity, but NOT the JUTSU.

ever one will see that Madara is controling kakashi through a zetsu clone he implanted with a sharingan, and since Obitio has the same Eye as kakashi, and he was in relative distance, when Kakashi chakra flow to his activated sharingan was disrupted Obito caught a glimpse of what Kakashi was seeing. hince its the real kakashi and rin, but the mist ninja was a fake, the "mist" surrounding them was from the earlier explosion, which was meant to grab Obito's attention and set up the perfect mist scene when OBito arrived to see what had happen... Secondly, that is kakashi's ANBU outfit he is wearing, so, in other words he was on a mission even the Hokage didn't know about, THATS WHY MINATO IS NOT PRESENT. Hince why kakashi always knew who Danzo was and how he knew Yamato when he was assighned to Team 7 when kakashi was in the Hospital. Kakashi also isn't wearing a headband, some of you have noticed, that's becuase the ANBu of The Leaf do not affiliate themselves with The Leaf but do take great precautions to protect it, which is why they do not wear headbands when on a mission, or while in the village, regualarily you see them in their animal masks, why kakashi has no mask this mission was so that he could gain Rin's trust by not wearing a mask, then eliminate her. Rin was a spy for Danzo (Root). Danzo knows about Kakashi's sharingan and wants to collect it. Rin and Kakashi were both originally Anbu and Once Rin failed her mission, Kakashi leaves the Anbu.

It might be even possible that the other Uchiha were skeptical about Kakashi having a Sharingan and were Pissed off about it. They may have not believed the story of what happened to Obito. A rebellion may have began if Danzo didnt try to intercede and take the eye away. who knows :/

Sharingan being implanted into a zetsu clone is very possible in my opinion.

What? I thought Kakashi was a Jonnin at the time. Plus kakashi becomes an Anbu when he gets older.

Kakashi use his headband to cover the sharingan left eye. If and when he need to use the sharingan eye, he had to moved the headband up, that may be possible that it came loose. Do you need to tighten the headband when fighting. This may cause a fatal mistake...

Um....It could be that Zetsu transformed into Obito and was able to recall Obito's own memories. And since the last time Obito say Kakashi, Kakashi had the cut on his left eye and mask. So Zetsu just used that image from Obito's memory and made a clone with that?

Look here smart one, put your facts straight before you write on this. How do you expect obito and kakashi to awaken the mangeko sharingan if it was zetzus clue being kakashi? Zetzu cannot make a real sharingan to make work with obito's. They awaken the MS once they felt the pain for losing someone close to them(Rin). Plus Kakashi cried and Obito did not see him cry, it only showed him cry which means if it was zetzus clone he would had wanted to make kakashi look more bad(which crying doesnt portrait that) to get obito more mad.

Kakashi is missing his dad's sword aswell. I think people are reading more into the situation more than needed. I think it was just an intense battle for only Rin and Kakashi to handle. Since he lost his headband and sword.

As for why Rin is dead. The Bloody Mist ninja kept on saying 'The Enemy' about Kakashi. So maybe she was a spy for bloody mist, or under control, or even maybe a rare bloody line we dont know of.
