There have been only 3 actual fights where Itachi was either serious or had no choice but to fight. Let me remind you, all these fights were ended in seconds:
Itachi vs Deidara
Itachi vs Orochimaru, this fight happened on two occasions:
Itachi vs Kakashi
Please dont think if me as a fanboy of a specific character, that would be insulting my intelligence! I am a fanboy, but not of a fictional character, I am a fanboy of Masashi Kishimoto and his work. To prove that his work has signaled towards this statement is my work! So here it is....the moment the manga itself made this person into what he is:
So you see, no matter how much you may hate an unreal character from a story, as sad as that is, it should not affect manga facts! The same way I have accepted that Tobi is Obito, you must accept that Itachi is and always will be, invincible!

Itachi has no defense against Deidara's C4 therefore he is not invincible. Madara would solo the **** out of Itachi. Shisui's Mangekyou would solo Itachi (Possibly). Minato could solo Itachi. Third Raikage could also solo him (granted he's not caught in Genjutsu). Jiraiya could solo him, SM Kabuto could, Nagato, etc... Just b/c he wasn't killed, doesn't mean he's invincible. Deidara wasn't killed by anyone, therefore can I claim he's invincible? Not really :/ Give it up Fanboy.
