Question about edo madara

Ok so we're currently dealing with edo madara but at the same time we're finding out about old madara. Here's my question: at some point doesnt old madara have to die for him to be resurrected as edo madara? We know that he didnt really die in his fight with hashirama senju so when did madara kick the bucket (if he did at all). This is what im trying to get answered.

This is just me rambling in my own post(take it for What it is) if tobi knows about how madara manipulated him but he doesnt care. He still wants to exicute the eye of the moon plan and maybe thats why he said he doesnt blame kakashi for rin's death

well he found DNA from just about every dead ninja worth reviving lol but he's a crafty guy. I dont doubt his ability to find madara's dna
