Well, LOTR rofl stomps the recent trilogy, but with the first trilogy, it's a pretty close call. I'd lean to LOTR, but I'm a huge Star Wars fanboy.

If you're talking about power though, Star Wars without a doubt. Current Luke Skywalker is the most powerful character in fictional history.

Current Luke Skywalker and a few others can solo Narutoverse with minimal difficulty.

They're both fantasy stories that are enjoyable. I can't stand the LotR movies because they were butchered, the cartoon versions were better actually as far as story. I love the LotR books, mainly The Hobbit because its such a greate tale that stands all on its own. I prefer the original Star Wars trilogy 4-6. The last three that were done nearly destroyed Star Wars completely.

I see no reason to try and compare LotR to Star Wars...that's like the apples and oranges thing.

If you're talking about which one was better entertainment wise, movies is star wars. Lord of the Rings was a more in depth work as a book series, but Star Wars was more fun to watch. They're both really good; why choose when I'm gonna take both anyway?

Also — the answer, is of course, LOTR — one man, JRRT, created the middle earth universe to the breadth and detail that has taken several decades & hundreds of people to build what we know as the SW universe.

Star Wars. It's a better movie series, based on the classic episodes 4,5 & 6. LOTR is a incredible series of novels, the movies are good, but the books are better. So, assuming were discussing the movie version, Star Wars for the win.
