i had a different problem with IE. the avatar in the upper right was overlapping the search option, and the threads were weird looking. I switched to google chrome today. no such problem exists anymore.

What you're running into may not be the browser, but rather the internet connection itself. Regardless, just use another browser if you think that's the problem. As others mentioned, you have Google Chrome.
