Re: A Series of Unfortunate Events
I quite liked them when I was younger, but now that I look back, I find them repetitive.
It's like this:
-One of the kids gets stolen
-They get that person back
-Life continues being miserable
Every book seemed to follow that pattern.
Edit:
I forgot to add:
-Klaus does something brilliant that pertains to a book he once read
-Violet invents something
-Sunny bites things

Re: A Series of Unfortunate Events
I thought they were good when I was younger but I doubt I'd appreciate them now.

Refer to the title of the books
...But I suppose that's not an excuse.
Edit:
Yeah, I don't think I would like them as much as I did when I was young, if I were to reread them.

To put the books in a better light, because really––I've never met a book (besides Lord of the Flies) that I didn't like. They are written well, and have plenty of humor in them and were probably my favorite series before I met Harry Potter.

I wanted to read the books... But only ever saw the movie. I assumed they were going to make more, guess not.

Re: A Series of Unfortunate Events
I remember when I was a wee lad, I would buy the new SOUE book at the school book fair every year.
Along with a bunch of other worthless shit

Yeah, knick, knacks are best found at the book fair.
Not sure, kinda rings a bell though.

Re: A Series of Unfortunate Events
I can remember reading them all in the 8th grade.... They were very good though somewhat predictable. And as I notice a lot of people saying that they wouldn't like it as much now as they are older, I would just like to remind you all that it is a series for CHILDREN and YOUNG ADULTS. Lemony Snicket wrote more books for adults.
