I think Tobi would be a more sinister/ stronger villain if he had the joking part about him.
I do not know about the rest of you guys but when Tobi was funny he had a mystery stigma against him.
For example I will compare him to a earlier Kabuto in the Naruto series.
Like Kabuto when I thought he was a second in command of Oro he couldn't be trusted that what made him seem like a true villain too and made it juicy cause even though Oro cared less about anyone Kabuto could have been the one to back stab him because he was smart too.
Now back to Tobi. I feel more sad for him now because his body was made out of clay and he got crushed by a rock than him being a bad guy and his plan.... to make people all follow his command with the moon... how bad is that.

A guy who doesn't want to be anyone , thinks the world is going to shit , takes over a dead mans identity , likes to collect eyes , doesnt need to pee and wears a mask, it just saddens me , he is nothing more than a heart broken kid with OP dna implants that just took the wrong path , he got misguided by an old fart connected to a statue.Well when i give it a second thought i think he is kinda on an another level compared to normal villians
