they are simply a big military force, because kishi probably wanted to have a meeting on neutral ground. i dont think they are stronger or weaker than ninjas, just more disciplined.

well in real history the shinobi were mere farmers and peasents that used their farming tools as weapons and created a covert style of attacking it's enemys.....

the "ninja" came to rise cuz the farmers and peasents were trying to come up with techniques to counter the samurai

so yes in real life the samurai were much stronger........men that spent their whole lifes training in the sword techniques their masters past down to them......

atop that the samurai lived on and the ninja faded away

oh so true, because look at the Ninja's now in the Naruto world, nothing but wars and power struggles, Samurai's have a code of honor to uphold, ninja's are kinda like..do whatever is necessary they havent learned that honor thing yet, maybe them being in the manga (samurai) will be another catalyst toward narutos dream of peace, he might learn from them and try to incorporate that when he becomes Hokage.

actually samurai faded before the ninja. the ninja are assassins who were around even

after the fall of samurai in the end of 19th century.
