Working on my next story now,
it's without a doubt the best
one I've written so far! I'll
      probably start posting it in
the middle of June, though I
      can't promise anything.

Well, we don't have to spam, I'm sure if someone came up with a great topic and tried to keep everyone else on it then we could talk about something relevant to writing.

I think it could happen...like Tsuki could start asking questions about what he should do about certain things in his story, and I'd be more than interested.

Yeah, it certainly is, everything she writes is awesome.
The ideas are still too vague to ask questions

I've seen someone who planned the titles of his fanfic before starting to write.
Do you guys think that would be wise?
How do you normally plan a chapter?
You just prepare the (what should I call it) "skeleton" of the chapter and then develop from there?

okay so those are some questions I had in mind%2

Picking a title helps me focus on what I want to accomplish, what the main idea is. And personally I like writing everything in one go. Helps with coherency. But that's just me.

Well, I personally never know what the next chapter is about, nor do I plan for it in any way. I just have an idea of where I want the story to go, then make it happen the best I can. Like with the last chapter I did, I didn't want the whole thing to be a fight, but that's how it turned out...so I named it Fight. I write the chapter, then name it...mostly because I have no idea what it will be about. I always try to leave somewhat of a cliff hanger at the end though.

Now here's another question; how much time do y'all spend editing? Right now, I'm at zero, and I'm really not sure how it would affect my writing at the time. And what are the methods you use for editing?

I sometimes feel like doing it as you said, everything in one go... it feels better but if you want to have a very big plot then you might want to review stuff :silly:
I'm lazy for that, but sometimes it's necessary

hehe the title in the end right ? I would do something similar to that but also have some important things I want and develop from that.
So you didn't plan to have a fight in there?! O.O it was one of the awesomest parts imo!

Just easier to quote you all and answer at the bottom lol.

Well people write differently we can't give you any one answer since it might not feel right for you. The way I write can be based on different factors. Like school when you're given a topic and then just concentrate on that. If I'm bored and have nothing better to do, I just put on music and write, nothing in particular. However the way I write after I've come up with an idea and decide to run with it is just basically using a flow map to plot it all down. I'll worry about titles and such later, don't want to feel like I'm pressuring myself to stay with only one idea. It sets a sort of limitation and that's just not good.

The best advice I can give you Tuski is to write what you want. What do you want to happen? What makes you jump out of your chair and dance around happily when a certain event happens? What kind of characters do you like? Write your ff for you! Make yourself happy with it because that's all that really matters! D Don't be afraid to pick up pieces and arrange them to suit your passion! You are in control and you're only limited by what you allow yourself to think. The whole world you create is at your fingertips, don't be afraid to put that pen to paper and show us that imaginative mind you have! We're dying to see it!

Also at editing....I spend a lot of time on it! When I critiqued Train's I spent like 2 or 3 hours looking for mistakes and pointing them out for him. He asked me to tear it apart so I did. When I write my own stuff I do the same, though there are some mistakes your eyes can miss so it never hurts to show a close friend what you have and have them read over it as well. Editing is an important factor to me, but that's because I'm OCD as well.

Bottom line is it's perfect when you feel it is. Errors can always be corrected, so don't worry too much about them.

If you need help, you have friends that will help you and never forget who's supporting you Tuski! That goes for everyone else as well. We are all great writers and no matter how long you have been writing, you always find yourself improving, even if it's minor things. Keep writing everyone and allow the passion you have for it envelope you into such a creative bliss! :ice:

It will never die if I have anything to say about it!

I still don't do flow charts like TOC does... I'm just not good at that stuff since I have it all in my head and the only way I know to get it out is to just start writing.

I've started doing more and more editing. Now I'll go over it again and again, then on the last pass I've started reading it out loud to myself...when you do that, errors and such jump out like crazy. Definitely you should spend a lot of time editing and re-working sentences and stuff...I'm surprised your writing is so good without doing that...now I'm afraid to see what it would be like if you did, can anyone say masterpiece?

I'm lazy for that, but sometimes it's necessary

hehe the title in the end right ? I would do something similar to that but also have some important things I want and develop from that.
So you didn't plan to have a fight in there?! O.O it was one of the awesomest parts imo!

      same here
Well, I was going to have a fight, I just didn't know it would be the whole chapter, then I realized it needed to be so it would seem more realistic. One thing I have to constantly struggle with is moving my story along too fast.

I'll try to save the masterpiece for the novel idea, no offense to the forum. A fan fic can't possibly satisfy my literary ambition.

All you have to do is just write down the events you want to do in order and make notes that's it. It's just a nice reminder to show yourself what you plan to do with your story, without forgetting. It helps me a lot since I constantly find myself putting one down to work on another. >.>

You really know what to say to give me more motivation
Thank you very much, I will remember all of this! :D

hm,I doublt I would go very far with my story since I haven't planned much yet, but if I did... then I want to go 'Tite Kubo'-mode before ending the story :zonder:
(bleach fans would understand what I mean )
