Manga On Why Kakashi Covers His Sharingan

My brother and I were aruging about why Kakashi fainted in the last chapter. He thinks it's because he just killed Rin so he just fainted for no reason. I told him it's because he unlocked the MS and fainted due to how much chakra it requires. I then told him Kakashi covers his sharingan to reduce how much chakra it uses, and he wants me to find the manga where it says that.

Can anyone help me find it lol, I know it was said somewhere in the manga, but idk where it is.

well when he's recovering in a hospital his sharingan eye is closed
so basically he just needs to keep his eyes closed to regain or conserve his chakra

i think its because he was just out of chakra , for all the fighting with the mist & after killing ring that was to much

It is to conserve chakra, because since he can't switch it off if he didn't cover it the sharingan would be predicting peoples moves even as they walk towards him, costing chakra.

Since hes a non Uchiha to havie it on constantly drains a considerably amount of chakra and he would be useless in battle.

Maybe because his Kamui activates at random times due to Obito using it? Possible?

First off, thank you for the comments. Not trying to be rude or anything, but to everyone telling me something along the lines of " He covers it/keeps it close because it drains/uses too much chakra" I already know that, I'm just wondering where it says it in the manga.

First of all he fainted bcuz he was low on Chakra do to fighting ninjas from the mist so when hr unlocked the mangekyo it drain his chakra making him lose consious .
2nd. He covers his sharingan to conserve his chakra, he's not a real uchiha so he can't go back to his regular eye like the uchiha do so he covers it
For example the start of shippuden when sakura and naruto were fighting kakashi for the bells do u remeber hoe kakashi was defeated?? His sharingan was uncover so there for was able to read naruto moves ( lips at the time) even though he wasn't trying to his sharingan was uncover there for it did it itself . So yea he keeps it cover to conserve his chakra LOL

hes a well known ninja. if his white hair and vest doesnt give away who he is, showing off his one sharingan when the Uchiha are supposedly dead would certainly attract unwanted attention id imagine. i do think he does not show it off though to prevent from relying on the power all the time. i do feel this was at least mentioned in the anime somewhere.....

It is at lease a starting point.

Itachi says to Kakashi
"Your body is 'suitable' for the eye, but you don't have uchiha blood"
"you are not the real master of the sharingan"


Kakashi cannot de-activate the sharingan because he is not of uchiha blood. (can't recall manga stuff on that one) - but that is why he keeps it covered. It's his way of preserving his chakra.

This is implied to me because Itachi specifically states that Kakashi doesn't have uchiha blood and is not a real master... and as we know, the 'masters' we have seen with the sharingan can turn it on\off at will as well as keep it active and not hidden.
