[Discussion] Anyone else notice this?

Looking at the old Kakashi Gaiden, I noticed that there's a cut in Kakashi's mask from the knife that caused him to lose his eye. And also, he doesn't have his forehead protector.

Then looking at the recent chapter, I again noticed the same cut on his mask (looking like the same from Kakashi Gaiden), and the fact that he still doesn't have his forehead protector.

About the forehead protector, it can easily be explained, but having the same cut on his mask is kinda weird, he should've changed it by then.

What do y'all think about this?

You're right about us not knowing how long after the cut happened that this situation occured, but looking at Obito's hair, i would say that a decent amount of time has passed since Kakashi got the eye.

It's not so much about a plothole or such, it's more about giving a better view over the timeline in this situation, especially about Obito's hair :D

I never stated that it was a plothole.... And Kakashi changed his mask after the fight against Kakuzu.. Why would this be any different?

When I first saw it, I thought meant that this Kakashi was actually a Zetsu clone that simply took on his form from Obito and Kakashi's last mission together. If its based on that alone, I'd assume that his mast would still be ripped. However, after the last chapter, it does seem like that is the real Kakashi.

I thought about that too, and the reason I didn't include it in the thread was what you just wrote, because of the last chapter.
