Itachi the hypocrite?

Before Edo Itachi went off to face Kabuto he told Naruto that he trusted him to take care of Sasuke:

Itachi acted like the evil older brother to deceive Sasuke, as a part of this persona he always told Sasuke to kill his best friend and come before him with the mangekyou.

One may argue that Itachi would not have known that Naruto was Sasuke's best freind, or would become Sasuke's best friend. However, Itachi finds out Naruto's determination to protect Sasuke before his battle with Sasuke:

Even after this he criticizes Sasuke for not having the mangekyou:

I know that Itachi was again putting on an act here, but how did he know that Sasuke wasn't going to to kill Naruto? So he trusts Naruto with saving Sasuke, but always told Sasuke to kill naruto. Hypocrite much?

Many of you are misunderstanding my question, yes it was as an act but how did Itachi know Sasuke was'nt going to pursue revenge to the extent that he would kill Naruto for the mangekyou. He trusts Naruto with saving Sasuke but he always told Sasuke to kill him.

Itachi's plan was to deceive Sasuke into becoming strong enough to obtain MS/EMS, use it to defend the village and possibly defeat Madara(Tobi at the time).

He always wanted Sasuke to do the right thing, but knew Sasuke needed to become more powerful than himself in order to accomplish the things Itachi could not. He framed himself and made it look like he massacred everyone just so that he could test his limits, but in actual fact, he wanted to protect Sasuke and make him strong.

He's not a hypocrite parse, Itachi didn't count on so many things happening, such as Orochimaru stepping in and training Sasuke, or his Amateratsu not affecting Tobi and keeping him away from Sasuke.

Irregardless, Itachi felt remorse for killing his parents and ruining Sasuke's life. If anything, his attempt at deception is a way to redeem himself and his clan which he sees Sasuke as the only one who can do it. But like any human, Itachi still hopes Sasuke will change but his mistake was in always treating Sasuke as a little brother instead of an equal.

Itachi knew that Sasuke would take his eyes to awaken the EMS. That is why he performed the entire act of trying to steal his eyes and explained to him how to get the EMS.

itachi is a psychopath. all he cares about is HIS way of doing things. anyone else besides sasuke are his tools to be manipulated for those ends. even innocent people.

exactly. so the KA genjutsu was telling itachi he should do everything alone while telling others they shouldnt. and its also telling him a genocidal psychopath who wants to destroy everything and everyone in konoha shouldnt be taken down.

if he had MS and EMS it would mean he slaughtered two people (naruto and itachi) and 99% likely that hes evil for doing that. hence KA plan. if he thought genuinely that sasuke would be good with EMS without needing to be brainwashed then that makes the KA plan entirely pointless. i mean if hes forced to "protect konoha" what does that mean? does it mean if konoha invades another country he wont try and help them even if it means both sides get wiped out, or not stop danzo because he is "konoha"? itachi never even put any real guidelines on that brainwashing. meaning sasuke can find loopholes and still find a way to be evil

no he didnt. he was planning on enslaving and brainwashing sasuke for the rest of his life. this is beyond cruel and evil and one of the worst acts in the manga so far. it took a shit on his parents last request meaning he didnt give a shit about them either

no he ruined sasukes life and brutally and savagely mindraped him three times, even putting him in a coma once. this isnt protecting him. this is TORTURING A CHILD. itachis a brutal evil psychopath. forcing sasuke to become a traitor and permanently mess up his mind isnt heartwarming brotherly love, its purely sociopathic brainwashing. born out of a desire to die at his hands rather than turning himself in and letting tsunade pass judgement. itachi didnt care about his own villages rules and laws, only about forcing his own brother to become a murderer and eventually, an enslaved brainwashed puppet.

You pretty much answered your own question. "How did Itachi know Sasuke wasn't going to kill Naruto?" He didn't, He had no idea Naruto would later become his closest friend. He had no idea of Naruto's resolve. He had no way of knowing to what extent Naruto would go to save his friend. The fight in the end was merely an act to finally die by Sasuke hands.

I know, but wouldn't it have been easier to do it in Sasuke's Sharingan or regular eyes? That way, the chance of failure would have been significantly decreased.
