Obito tried to destroy Konoha using the Kyubi 16 years ago. Why didn't he just leave from there once he had the Kyubi under his control? Wasn't his plan to gather all the bijous? Why risking to lose the Kyubi like that? And also, I thought he didn't care at all about this world (he didn't kill kakashi, why destroying a village?) since he's going to make a new world.

Madara also wanted revenge on the village so obito had two objectives get the kyuubi and crush the leaf.If obito knew he would of been stopped do yo think he would of done this anyway ?Obito had no way in knowing minato would seal the kyuubi in the reaper death seal.Plus even if he did not get tasked with madara's revenge it would only be logical to cover your tracks the village would just come after him eventually. just a thought, but maybe he was that mad at the fourth hokage due to his absence when kakashi killed run. Remember when he asks the Tobi suit where the yellow flash is, and is informed that "hes on another mission." I don't know but this is just a thought. Your guess is as good as mine. Im not sure, but obito was keen on destorying konoha with the 9 tails, and he was going to take it once he was done destorying the village, minato just put a hinder to his plans is all.

I think obito saw them as a threat kohona produces ninja like jaraiya hurizen minato naruto kakashi guy. If kohona caught wind of his beast collecting they would definitely tried to stop him.

It all kinda leads back to that night, doesn't it? The answer lies in what Tobito concealed from Sasuke when Sasuke was recovering from his battle with Itachi, and it isn't that the event led to the Uchiha massacre. Tobito freely admits to Sasuke his grudge against the Leaf and his participation in the massacre and the Uchiha were already being mistrusted by the rest of the leaf. Tobito exhibits no fear of Sasuke's retribution.

I think he wanted to get revenge for Rin, his only motivation probably for everything. Maybe we will find out that Kakashi killed Rin because of something the Leaf did to her body that indirectly caused her death.

Thats just exactly the reason, he needs a war to happen so that other jinchuurikies are exposed in battle. That makes it easier for outsiders to intervene and steal the bijuu rather then if he had to infilitrate the entire country and village. Obito even said it himself .. Originally Posted by sLm

You could say he tried to weaken the Leaf somehow and possibly allow other countries to attack it but this did not seem to happen at all. The one thing I don't get though is, if the plan to gather the Bijuu occurred after this event then it be as simple as 'yeah he changed his plan after the failed attempt at getting the nine tails' but this was the plan before that event so unless he went in to try and test his own powers as well.
