[Discussion] What's the point of Obito's mask?

As depicted here, Obito had (or still has) a Zetsu suit which conceals his identity



However in the most recent manga chapter, he has suddenly crafted a mask for some unbeknownst reason.



Quite possibly a very irreverent detail, but I am very confused about what the purpose of the mask is, unless I somehow missed a huge part in the manga where there was an explanation of the origin of the newly crafted mask. Irrelevant or not, it's just something to think about. Bizarre theories from the depths of your imaginations are welcomed here for shits and giggles.

Obviously he can't pretend to be Madara with his young face. Also everyone in Konaha would have recognized him immediately.

He didn't care about his past life anymore, so I suppose that he didn't want other people's emotions to be involved in his fights. Also he wanted to carry on Madara's ideals, which wouldn't of been plasiable had people of seen his face.

1. He was pretending to be Madara. Madara's name was fear enough to get his ideals going and stimulate this war.
2. That Zetsu that was on his body has a mind of it's own. Less efficient than him being in control of his own body.
3. This was likely a plot device that Kishimoto made to just give us readers interest. We saw Obito, and our curiosity after Kakashi Gaiden and seeing Tobi for the first time after Sasori died gave birth to a billion theories a week for about eight years. It kept us interested. Now we finally know it, and as mad as people got, they got more intense into this manga.
