Well, there are always some cases where it would be the right thing to do but in 99% of the time, a man should not hit a woman.

anyways It depends on the situation, like for Lil Reese situation he stupid and has little patience, he had no right hitting her, on the Bus Driver however he had the right for one the girl is in her 20s she knew that she shouldn't be acting like that all rachet and what not, she hit him first and spit on him, so he defended himself. yeah until you get on a badside of a girl who knows martial arts or has a huge body like the female bodybuilders. if one of those attacked you wouldn't be able to hold them down. Fact is most men are physically stronger than women, but there are also many women who can kick a guy's ass.

In all honesty though, I think anyone should have a right to defend themselves if assaulted. But don't go too far, the guy in the video is the perfect example of an ***hole. Keep your hands to yourself, if you're pushing her then she has the right to tell you to stop it or to defend herself. To be fair, a man typically shouldn't beat up a woman for no particular reason. That said, it's not uncommon for women to abuse the whole 'you can't hit a girl' rule, so in some cases it's their fault for being provocative in the first place.

All in all, don't beat the crap out of women. Just tell them to stop what they're doing and walk away.
However, if they come at you with a knife or a gun, do whatever is necessary to protect yourself.

Maybe you're asking the wrong question. Maybe the question you should be asking is: "Is it okay for a person to hit another person?" or perhaps, "When is it okay to hit someone?"

My answer to the question is: it depends. There's nothing inherently wrong with striking a person: context is required. Are you defending yourself? Are you retaliating because of a fit of rage? The situation will determine the answer to what I believe is an otherwise vague and neutral question.

However, I do believe that there is a social stigma tied to violence against women from the opposite sex, and with good reason. I don't think it'll ever go away, and I don't expect it to.

Part of the reason that it's not okay to hit women is because they are generally physically inferior to men. In other words, they are not as strong and smaller and thereby less able to defend themselves. Of course, there are exceptions, but the point stands. It's cruel for parents to pick on their children simply because they are "bigger" and "stronger". In the same vein, it seems cruel for a guy to pick on a lady, especially when the guy is obviously stronger. As the saying goes, "pick on somebody your own size".

Treat a lady like the human being she ought to be treated as. Moreover, acknowledge her femininity by understanding that men and women are different in some regards (though they are all equal), but do not perpetuate gender discrimination by emphasizing her womanhood so much as to insult her by assuming that she isn't capable of doing what men are capable of.

If you think that it's always wrong to hit a woman, I think right then and there, without realizing it, you have reduced her worth, minimized her ability, and have perpetuated reverse gender discrimination. You have given her "special privileges", and have thereby treated her unequally. You may think you are noble, that you are doing women a favor, but all you have accomplished is insulting them by assuming that they don't deserve to be treated equally.
