Shawn has short brown hair, which he is very proud of, and brown eyes. He wears colorful t-shirts or casual shirts combined with jeans and sneakers.

Shawn is highly intelligent and possesses an eidetic memory. His seemingly random stream of consciousness often belies the far-reaching logical connections that his observational skills allow him to make.
Shawn refuses to take anything seriously, though has matured slowly over the years. An example for his "inappropriate" behaviour is when he was addressing a mountain lion by saying: "Simba, I am your father".
Although he seems to be selfish, reckless and immature, deep inside he is a very kind and caring person. He describes his bond with Gus as "unbreakable. It's one of those friendships that make people who don't have one ask, 'Why does Gus put up with Shawn?' It's not about putting up with one another. It's about knowing each other so well that things that might annoy someone from the outside don't annoy you anymore."
In a book, which is based on him, he is described as "a thick-tufted boy genius who ice skates through life on polished blades of snarky eloquence".

Background Info.

History:

Shawn comes from a family of police officers of the Konoha Police Force. His father, Henry Spencer Uchiha, schooled Shawn in detective work from as early as age 7, aiding the development of his extraordinary powers of observation and deduction. Shawn's relationship with his father is complicated and at times highly strained. Though often it may seem that Henry is intentionally aggravating or imposing his will on his son, his motives are usually genuine.
At his first day at the ninja academy he met Gus. Since that day they trained together, went on missions and became best friends. Even though they often say things like "take him instead of me" and Shawn refers to Gus as "human shield", they would risk their lives to protect eachother.
At the age of 10, when he passed the Chuunin exam, he achieved a perfect score of 100 on the detective's exam. Despite his obvious talent, Shawn had no interest in entering the police force. After being promoted to Jounin rank at the age of 15, the year Shawn's mother left him and Henry, Shawn left Konohagakure and Gus to take random missions selected strictly for his own enjoyment.
5 years after he left he returned to Konohagakure and made the people believe he was a psychic, except for his father and Gus. However, it is really his exceptional observational skills and eidetic memory that allow him to obtain his "visions".

"Is it entirely too early for me to have a theory?"

The need for his cover as a psychic is a result of the many tips Shawn gave the police force, that led to the solving of their cases. The highest members of the police were suspicious and accused him of being responsible for those crimes. However he successfully convinced them of his psychic powers by connecting the knowledge he gained while observing them and telling them things, they thought he couldn't know.
