Maybe he's already dealt with some of the moves Madara uses while toying around, such as Jukai Kotan and/or Flower World? Maybe Flower World isn't as hax'd as we think?

No he did'nt, he not trying to kill naruto he trying to subdue him + naruto would just use bijudama cut thru the vine and use the fox chakra tail to blow it away so its not an effective jutsu in this battle

Madara had Zetsus all over the place spying for him so yea, he knew about Minato. Plus Obito could of said.

It could have been Obito's doing, but I personally think that Madara died just before Minato became Hokage. What I think he was talking about is his innate hatred for Hokage because it's been a title handled by the Senju, so he's going to "kick it up a notch" on Naruto because it's a position he detests due to it being a "Senju supremacy".
