So say.. Naruto was wearing his fancy-cape during the fight untill the point when he went kyubi-style and clothes got ripped off.
In his state of mind where he met his daddy he wore his everyday outfit.
Then after the kyubi got supressed by Yondaime Naruto was back in the game only this time he was not wearing the cape like he should have.
The question is WHY?
perhaps Kisihimoto decided to send him back in his "normal" state, therefore he skipped the Sage-cape.

Ooooor what I believe to be the reason.. Kishi simply forgot to put his new cape back on.
