Not every character has such a high personal goal as Tsunade. And why make it a sad ending? Creating a negative story is what doesnt make sense.

Please don't read this unless you have seen the latest naruto episodes 286 and 287.

I've always stated this, but during these two episodes it gets very clear. I've seen many thread about Tsunade needs to die etc for Naruto to become the next Hokage. That is utter bs.

As we see in these two episodes, the sole purpose for Tsunade in the series is to make sure Naruto becomes the Hokage, as she failed to make sure Nawaki and Dan reach the same goal. It has troubled her whole life, and this last time, she place her bet on Naruto. She put her life on the line to make sure Naruto succeed.

I think once she experience and sees Naruto receiving the title, she will finally be at peace with her lost ones. Because Naruto succeeds Dan and Nawakis dream, and that is what she wants. If Tsunade dies before this happens, she is a failed character.

Things aren't looking good for her, it's really 50/50 at this point regardless of who says what just based on the manga.
