[Theory] Sakura Haruno's possible character development.

Ok, so I promised this thread regarding Sakura's development in the series, ie supassing Tsunade.
I know the majority of you will start bashing towards her calling her all that names. I've heard it before, not impressed.
So note this: every single bashing towards her will be reported! I am not here for your whining personalities, not for hearing your hate.
There is a lot hate in this world, real one, so I don't need some childish hate towards a character. Are we clear?
I am looking for a nice discussion/debate upon these theories I am having.
Before saying that no, Sakura will not get it because Naruto is ending, let's not forget that Kishi said multiple times that he wanted to end the series yet he found himself continuing it.
So until it's not finished, I have the right to think up for some certain possibilities as long as I want.
Hopefully, we are clear.

Sorry if I sounded *****y, my excuses, I've just had it with people with whom you can't have a nice discussion. I am just repaying in the same manner, if you want to take it like that.

Now, let's get down to business.

Given the last events, as we've seen, Tsunade is on her verge of dying. There's a 50/50 chance of survival. We don't know for sure if she dies or lives.

But putting this aside, I have had these ideas before this whole Tsunade events of certain developments Sakura might get.


1. Yin Seal.

Well, as we know, Kishi has drawn Sakura to make a big deal out of her forehead.
From the series's start this was a part of her personality, more exact, one of her biggest problems regarding her insecurities over her looks.

But what made me think it's not just about her forehead as a personality issue was after Tsunade was introduced in the manga, and afterwards, Sakura became her student and we saw the pattern Kishi followed with the 3 characters.

Naruto - Jiraiya: Learned Rasengan from him at the beginning as a prime development, afterwards he learned Sage Mode.

Sasuke - Orochimaru: Curse Seal as a prime development, afterwards learned Kirin with the help of Orochimaru, which, surprisingly or not, enough, looks like a Dragon (according to the manga, snakes evolve into dragons, see Kabuto getting Dragon Sage Mode)

Sakura - Tsunade: Medical ninjutsu and improved taijutsu as a prime development, second yet to see.

When we are first presented to Tsunade we got to see the Yin Seal drawn... where do you think? Exactly, on her forehead!

Later on, Kishi emphasizes once again the "forehead" thing with Tsunade.

As we clearly know, Kishi isn't the man to place signs here and there for nothing.

Putting the jokes aside, this reminds me of a funny picture I've found few days ago.

That was for the laughs.

Now, going on with my theories/possibilities, however you want to call it.

2. Genjutsu (Bringer of the Darkness)

As we know, in the beginning, ironically, Sakura falls under Kakashi's genjutsu in the 2 bell training.

But later on, we learn that she has gotten better at genjutsu, as proven in the Chuunin exams and Kakashi's words.

Of course, now you'll say that she was only shown to disperse it, but in the major fight Sakura had with Sasori, genjutsu would've been totally out of the question.

Now, you might ask yourself why I straightly went to Bringer of the Darkness and not other genjutsu.
Well, as I was re-reading the manga, one thing caught my attention.

In the Team 7 which consisted in Yamato and Sai, Sakura was always associated with Yamato.

And what really really caught my attention was this:

Out of them, Sakura was the only one to recognize the Jutsu and the Mokuton ninjutsu out of her colleagues.
Actually as we've seen, besides Naruto, none of them were associated in some sort of way with Hashirama Senju.
The only one who was, indirectly, is Sakura as we've seen in these scans because we all know who Yamato is.

And also, the most powerful genjutsu technique Hashirama showed was, as we all know, Bringer of the Darkness.

So if we put all these pieces together into a puzzle, it would lead to the fact that Sakura would get to learn it, taking into consideration that she is associated to Hashirama not only via Yamato, also via Tsunade who is his granddaughter and was known to know everything about her grandfather.

So this would come fairly logic into Sakura's development.

Another interesting thing I've noticed is this.
In the War, now, when we are introduced to Nidaime Mizukage there's a hint.

As we see, he says that his element is Yin (I wonder who possesses the same seal ) element and that this means he is a genjutsu user.

So once again, if we put these into a puzzle, we can see it quite clear. The only missing puzzle here is Kishimoto.

You might say that no, this is not possible but let us not forget about the fact that her master is the Hokage so, actually, Sakura has access to all these documents that contain jutsus and stuff like that.
We caught a glimpse with Sakura having access to those things in the war, where she was reading a report made by Yamato. We all know that these reports are for the Hokage.

And as we clearly see here, Sakura has access to it.

Now, I know there will be some of you that will say this won't happen, it's not possible but Kishi hinted so many times that old generation is surpassed by the new one, also he has made this clear that might happen with Sakura via Kakashi and Chiyo and these two are strong voices in the Narutoverse.
Kakashi, well, we all know who he is.
And Chiyo, we also know who she is as well and Chiyo is a veteran in her own right that fought Tsunade many times, has wars behind as experience and yet she said Sakura is liable to surpass Tsunade.
So this might come and it wouldn't be something strange to see, I would say that even expected.

The Slug Sage Mode thing, I am not taking it into consideration because I do believe that belongs to Tsunade more than Sakura, but who knows, maybe Kishi throws a surprise. o.O

Anyway, this is kinda it.

LATER EDIT: What I discovered more about another genjutsu specialist in the Senju clan was Tōka Senju.

Now, what exactly Tōka means? Well, as you guessed it, it has connection with flowers.
It means "Peach flower".

At least if this won't come to be, it shows how great potential she has, excepting the medical ninjutsu.

Great thread. I never thought of a possible foreshadowing of the Yin seal because of her forehead. Would have been better if you left out all the ugly pictures of Sakura though.

You know, it's because of her growth up til now that I've come to actually like Sakura. You call her useless; why? Can you tell me some good reasons, aside from her lack of screentime or the fact that she hasn't surpassed Tsunade yet? Not trying to step on anyone's toes, as I'm really not that fond of Sakura, but really: are you forgetting she hasn't had the same level of motivation as Naruto and Sasuke?

Naruto has gotten stronger to not only have people acknowledge him, as was his original goal, but also to save Sasuke, as well as the rest of his friends, fulfill promises he's made to his loved ones and ultimately to uphold peace/try to create peace. Sasuke, meanwhile, had something driving him to become strong and cunning from a very young age. He was led to believe it best to kill his brother, and so he trained constantly in order to grow stronger so he could one day take down his brother and avenge his family. He even chose to betray the people he cared about, break his bonds with them supposedly, in order to obtain power. And he did.

After the truth about Itachi was revealed, Sasuke got a new drive: anger. Pure hatred that, at one point, had driven him absolutely mad. He became evil, truly evil, but he had also become even stronger because of his desire to crush the Leaf. Even if he didn't gain strength for the right reasons, that doesn't matter.

You hear people say Naruto has surpassed Jiraiya and Sasuke has surpassed Orochimaru a lot; you don't hear them say the same thing about Sakura because she hasn't yet. She hasn't had the drive behind her, pushing her to. The reason to work so hard. But the fact that Kishimoto threw that in, especially so early on, means that there's a very good chance it will end up happening. So please, be patient and wait before you go bashing a character. The manga isn't even finished yet.

Well, the only problem I see is the Senju body, but surprisingly enough, she has shown great endurance when fighting with Sasori, even Sasori himself admitted that.
Maybe it's another foreshadowing? :shrug:

I used to hate Sakura...seriously. But I think after her battle test with Naruto versus Kakashi, I was sold. I think she would have been better off if her fighting ability would been better in Part I and improved in part II. But the way she is now, I think she has a bright future ahead of her. She has made mistakes like Tsunade, but that has just made her resolve that much stronger to do her best even when its not convenient. Props to Sakura for breaking the mold and proving she deserves some praise. I don't think she could have had a better teacher and role model. If only Tenten would follow suit. :/

True, the whole love drama is way to out of the normal limits.
I think Kishi got wrong the idea of romance in the manga.

I never hated Sakura, I had nothing going on with her, not praise, not hate. She was just... there.
But what totally got me on the offensive and defensive with her was every since I joined the base and I started to get more into this whole Naruto thing and saw the hate she gets. I just don't stand people bashing on someone/something. I always been the warrior who defends the ones that are not that liked or are wronged, lol, but that's another story.
Sakura doesn't deserve even half of the hate she gets from the fandom. But that's another thing I will discuss.
I am not trying to turn this thread into that.
I will have a separate one for the matter.

I've always been a Sakura supporter, every since I joined the base and saw the hate from the fandom.
As I said, before that, I didn't know that stuff like hating her happened, but when I saw it and I saw people did it wrong, I always got on the offensive when someone bashed about her, because she doesn't even deserve it.
Most of the people don't even understand what's Sakura's role in this manga.

Well for me it was that and it was as well when Sasuke kinda fought with her about Naruto because she made a silly statement about him and then she realized she was wrong and started to wonder herself if that's how Naruto felt and she started to stop being so silly.
But indeed, the Chuunin exams was... wow.
She didn't care, she was ready to get beaten to a pulp just to protect both of them and stood all the night awake so that they will not be in the slightest danger.

Indeed that is a deadly mix because if she adds genjutsu to that crazy strenght she has now, she adds more potential to the one hit kill she already has.
Imagine if she puts someone in genjutsu and then lands a punch.
Deadly indeed.
And Bringer of the Darkness is crazy OP genjutsu.
Basically the enemy sees nothing.

To be honest, the reasons I hated Sakura were because

- IMO, she didn't do much fighting compared to Naruto & Sasuke. Maybe that is a bad comparison but at least the other female in the Konoha 11/12 were able to fight.

- I was impressed by Sakura's intelligence but that was quickly ruined by her annoying way of telling everyone that she knew the answer. Although I have to admit the tidbits she provided were quite entertaining.

- She undermined Naruto and his potential (to some extent) and was more worried about Sasuke.

I apologize if those aren't valid reasons but they are my own. I would like to hear your insight though to see your views on it. ^__^
