Has anyone read this awesome series? If you have what do you think about it? If you haven't you must check it out
especially if you love vampires/werewolves/witches etc. I just finished reading City of Lost Souls (book 5) and it was
really good!!

I read some comments that said Cassandra Clare the author stole ideas from Harry Potter for this series. I don't see it
but what do you think?

Also, the movie will be released some time next year. Looking forward to that.

I have. One of my favorite series but I haven't read book 5 yet. Stole ideas from harry potter ? I never noticed. Romance is just a sub plot in hp but in Mortal Instruments it plays a major role. Anyway check out Infernal Devices too.
P.S : Night Angel trilogy, it's not the same author but I love the books.

I love this series, I'm currently reading the 4th book. I identify with the characters more than in most other fantasy novels, maybe because of the modern setting. I'm sure Cassandra Clare was influenced by Harry Potter, but I don't feel she stole ideas.

@ raziel777 The Night Angel trilogy was so awesome!! Brent Weeks is a legend for writing that. Can you imagine a movie??
But knowing Hollywood they would probably ruin the trilogy (like they ruined Twilight)

Apparently the mortal instruments are actually the deathly hallows and Valentine should be called by his real name Voldemort.
Also the character of Clary is like Ginny Weasley. I just don't see it!!

I didnt see that coming. I really fail to see what Voldemort and Valentine have in common. Maybe the nazi-like attitude ? Ginny and Clary are world apart, completely different personalities. Maybe Cassandra Clare was influenced by hp but she certainly did not copy rowling. Nowadays, every good fantasy books are labelled hp-copy...
- The Night Angel trilogy is my favorite series. And yeah, I'm pretty sure Hollywood can manage to ruin even that... I think an animated version would rock hard

The mortal instruments movie better be awesome cause this series deserves that. The director is the same guy who did
the new Karate Kid movie. They have Lily Collins (Mirror Mirror, The Blind Side) playing Clary and Jamie Campbell Bower
(Twilight, Sweeney Todd) playing Jace.

I love the Mortal Instruments. My favorite series in the world at the moment. I've read two and fell in love with it already. I'm getting 1 and 3 from my library at my school. I love the series and I can't wait to read more

I like it overall I got the books from a friend of mines D

Just finished reading Clockwork Angel.
It was amazing!! I loved the setting and how different it was to the Mortal Instruments.
Also, if you didn't read the Mortal Instruments, it doesn't even matter.
You guys have to check it out :D

For Christmas I got Lost Souls & both Clockwork books...so I'm pretty excited right now! Just to clarify, this was not from Santa, he is a punk-b*tch...whatcha gonna do Santa, take back the socks...I'm so scared.
