[Question] Shanks not being shown ?

Guys, time to make another thread regarding OP . This time i reckon its a interesting topic. Also if you've not upto to date please leave this thread.

Remember how at the beginning of One Piece we saw Ace leaving for one piece. Then when Luffy finally set sail a 2 years after Ace to become a pirate, We see Shanks meeting with Hawkeye to which he find out about Luffy's 30 Million Beri Boutny and says

" So you've come Luffy!! ".

After this, the only time we see Shanks reaction/moment in relation to Luffy was when Shanks came to stop the war at Marineford. Even then we don't see them "connecting" unless you count the moment of the burial of Ace & Whitebead

" Its okay to cry, Luffy!! "

So my question is that even after soo long of major events caused by Luffy. I.e Ernies Lobby, Shabondy Archipelago, and now the news of an alliance & Doflamingo resigning his position form Shichibukai...still no response from s+Shanks!!!!

I at least thought by now, we'd see some emotion from shanks?? Like how garp came from NAVY HQ just to meet with his Luffy, couldn't Shanks meet him for fun?? It'd be fun for both crews to briefly see each other.

Agreed, when I think about it when Luffy and Shanks parted, he is supposed to return the straw hat "as a great pirate" like he is suppost to give it back / meet Shanks when they are either equils in the new world or Luffy can surpass him. and we know by now not only will luffy not settle for being one of the yonko, but he also fully intends to take Shanks on.

I think he's done some pretty great things.

Not just the Strawhat. It's why Shanks didn't go see Luffy directly during the war or while Law had him on his ship.

It would be nice... But I dont see it happening. Does Shanks have a DF? What if he got the mera mera fruit?
It would be payment for the fruit Luffy ate that wasnt his.
I think that Shanks still maroons himself on his island, away from any contact from the world. This would explain why he hasnt had a response to many of Luffy's actions--->which leads to great stories when the two finally meet. They are all pigging out around a fire, and luffy and his team bring him up to speed on all of Luffy's actions.
The only contact he got from the outside world is when Hawkeye brought in a paper about luffy...
Soooooo... i think its safe to assume that shanks has taken himself away from the media, in order for luffy himself to bring shanks up to speed on luffy's story.

I love Shanks and I really hope this happens. One Piece would become so much better. ^_^
