Who do you think was the best taijutsu specialist?

In order, it probably looks like this:

1. Might Gai
2. Neji Hyuga
3. Rock Lee

I can't believe you didn't have a single Hyuga on your list, the clan of Taijutsu masters. It should be noted that while Neji appears to be basically maxed out, Rock Lee has some growing left to do. I imagine he'll be as strong as Gai, and therefor claim the 1 or 2 spot in the future.

I put Hiashi Hyuuga, Hinata's father, and equal to Hizashi Hyuuga, Neji's father. Neji's not on Hiashi's level, so I put Hiashi up there. I agree with the Rock Lee part, however.

I'm not sure Neji hasn't surpassed Hiashi (also, hey there was a Hyuga on the list). They're both Jonin, but Neji reached that point incredibly fast and has been hailed as an absolute genius. Hiashi is royalty; I doubt he has even seen that many battles. We have seen him use rotation, that's as advanced as we've seen from him.

Reputation? People almost never do that when they read a post they like, unless they A) really really like it, or B) the person already has mad high reputation so they use it as an excuse to talk to someone they perceive as one of the cool kids.

I doubt he has. When Choji surpassed Choza, Choza commented saying that Choji was ready to become clan head. Hiashi didn't even praise Neji.

He likely has to improve his taijutsu a bit more and expand more on his techniques to surpass Hiashi. Right now they are probably on equal terms as far as power, but Hiashis taijutsu is likely more refined due to his experience.

I agree . Well actually he's still faster than Gai. He's still a Ninjutsu specialist, so I couldn't include him. Even if I did, most people wouldn't vote for him.

I don't know how fast Gai is with the 7th gate open; he may be faster than Naruto. He doesn't move around during this period much, but his regular punches create massive shock waves akin to an S-rank jutsu. That's god damn fast.

Well I see him comparable to the Raikage with the 5th gate open. He'd probably be faster than A with the 7th gate open. But you've got to admit, Naruto's become one quick little guy.

He's good for quick one shot bursts of speed. It's enhances is taijutsu because he can move a bit faster, but his taijutsu is still mediocre at best.

Yes, but with Kurama empowering him, does it need to be that great? In BM, he could be faster than his father.

Gai doesnt have kurama or anything, but his taijutsu has put him head to head with some tough guys. He was easily besting Obito, apart from intangibility.

Gai. Technically Lee can never surpass Gai because Gai is capable of Ninjutsu and has shown he can dispel genjutsu by himself whereas Lee isn't capable of neither. Plus, Lee can open five gates and hasn't shown Gai's now famed Hirudora. Lee will get on par with Gai in Taijutsu but in overall abilites, he'll be behind.
