You can make up a bunch of different scenario's for how this match will play out. I think it just comes down to the fact that Minato has better hype, portrayal, plot importance, and accomplishments than Itachi. So chances are if Kishimot drew out the battle Minato would win.

When are people going to understand that the winner of fights like these can only be decided by Kishi. Both of these guys are strong/smart enough to beat each other. Therefor you can't really say who can beat who. If Itachi knew exactly how Minato's FTG works then what? If Minato knew about how Itachi's Tsukuyomi works then what? It is all what ifs... Kishi can only decide this fight from two of this caliber.
