its hard to believe that squad zero has only 5 members but all of them are captains though. What amazes me is that they have more power than the 13 divisions put together. But have they gain this new rank just now( after yamamoto's death) or were they stronger to begin with?? Does this mean they are stronger than genryusai yamamoto??

3 of the members look bad-ass and i also think one of them is a former Kenpachi( the bearded black one)

me too!!! I actually expected him to be in squad zero but i guess if he were an actual candidate, he would have been on the palace and aizen would have had a real tough time against him. To say the truth, i wanted shunsui and jushiro to be the strongest captains remaining along with unohana.

I hope not! The fat lady looks like a former squad 4 captain. I mean it would be absolutely plausible if she was Unohana's predecessor.
The one in the middle looks like a former kenpachi. As for the hot one, i think that is kiriko hikifune. I say this because that plump lady looks too old to be a mother figure for hiyori.

The guy in middle probably is similar to Ichigo honestly, prob has a giant zanpaktou and same/similar personality..over all unimpressed, I have a feeling Kubo is going to turn them into Jaha Bach fodder to make Ichigos "accomplishment" seem that much more glorious..after all it is Kubo..and we all know how Kubo scales power levels; completely random.

It looks like its about to get very interesting indeed.
Firstly, I am curious as the OP as to was it post Yamas death that the Zero Squad was stronger than the Gotei 13, I'm more inclined to believe prior is more likely.
I believe they are all weaker than Yama, due to Yama stating no shinigami has been stronger in the past millenia. However, compared to the captains, I imagien they'll be miles stronger. We are still yet to see the full power of Unohana Shunsui and Ukitake, and as Yama stated about Shunsui and Ukitake being two of the strongest captains in history, that the 3 of them might be the only ones who are similiar in strength to them.
Now, as we know the Gotei 13 is limited to 13 members. I wonder if the Zero squad is limited to 5, and when we see the promotion from Swing back the Pendulum arc, that was due to Isshin leaving. As Isshin, despite having shriveled reiatsu, was still considered captain class strength when we first see him as a shinigami, and Aizen before he went over powered, was unable to get the better of him.

To be fair, I'm a bit disappointed that they're just 5, and by their looks. They look way too extraordinary for my tastes (my own opinion, don't judge). But, oh well, guess it's really them.

Here's my take on them:

Fat lady - Looks kind, definetly will start fights with a few jokes, but later turn serious when excercising her power. Know Kubo, she's probably the fastest one of them all, not so sure about strongest. Just like Hachi, I think she's master of the kidou.

Guy on the left - Everything about his says Shunsui, so I take it he's either related or his predecessor. The hat, straw, if anything, he looks a bit more sinister than Shunsui.

Middle guy, In my own opinion, strongest one, their leader. Definetly looks most leaderish of them all, and does really resemble Kenpachi in a way.

Hottest one - I'm not certain, but i think that pic of her above is a fan art. She looks guilty as hell and I take it she's Kirio Mikifune. Not much to say about her, apart that she's hottest one from them all.

The right guy - Looks like that Vaizard, forgot his name, with the brute force. Looks like a physical type of fighter, that kills stuff with sheer force.
