We've seen in the most recent chapter that Obito's technique could easily be overcome by Kakashi and literally anyone else (why Kakashi came back out from his dimension I don't know).
To me, that shows that Obito never anticipated anyone overcoming his defense (why would he?) which leads me to believe that he has no other defensive techniques capable of fighting with. The very core of him being so successful as a shinobi has been his ability to teleport and to turn intangible.
With this as a reality now, how can he fight when they know how to defeat him? Just send over a shadow clone to fight stab him every time he turns intangible and that fight is over! Plot requires him to live unfortunately.

Plot requries Obito to live? I think you'll find it's the other way round. Obito could've used Shinra Tensei or the like (which he was taught by Madara) countless times during the battle. But Kishimoto needed to nerf him and his abilities.

I was wondering the same thing (about Kakashi). And I agree. I don't see Obito being much of a problem anymore. But he doesn't really have to seeing as how the Juubi is now resurrected.

Which is why I'm so confused. Even if the plot needs Obito I don't want him to suddenly become amnesic and forget everything he knows.

Like other people have said, he's got a Rinnegan that he didn't even bother to use, and 's got Mokuton on a pretty powerful scale. Why he's sitting here letting Kakashi and Naruto make him their *****, i do not know.

Well, he does have more than that. Yet, it's almost as if Kishi has begun erasing Tobi's personality, abilities and intelligence to make him look beatable, especially after all that hype. Or perhaps it's just me, but it's really hard to believe that the Obito during the kage summit (who evaded A's attack, saved Sasuke from Onoki, analysed everything during the Sasuke-Danzo fight and remained calm in any given situation) is the same guy during 608-609.

1.)There aren't much people who can anticipate his defence that well.ow
2.)Obito is smart as hell
3,)knows fire style, and other uchiha tecniques.
4.)Tobi summoned.. the jubii... and went head to head with bm naruto.
