Legalizing weed in a state is not a bad thing o_o . The world is changing. Weed was only illegal because of lobbyists from the 40's. Its not anywhere near as harmful as drinking. And the amount of generated revenue is good, so good it may be a federal law.

it is a federal law. To me it is bad. To me it shows just how much a nation cares about other problems. There are more problems for us to worry about then weed. People are gonna buy weed anyway. We shouldnt send this type of message to our youth.

Nah weed is worth it. It was legal at first anyway. The U.S. constitution was made on weed made paper.

Dude chill the hell out, even if all 50 states legalized weed the federal is still above the state and thats why weed can never full be legal, plus just cause a person who smokes weed dosent mean hes ignorant or is looking to get high, theres people out there who do depend on weed that help them and thats a fact

People don't seem to understand, it's not really legalization of weed, it's decriminalization of it. Alcohol isn't legal either. If alcohol was fully legalized then you could drink and drive, you could drink at any age you want to, etc. You can't though, so it's not legal, just decriminalized. The feds held out on decriminalizing alcohol until most or all of the states had already done so, then they lifted the penalty. The same will happen with weed, it will be allowed for recreational use by just about every state, then the federal government will do the same, it's how things work.

If people want to screw up their lives thru drugs then let them go ahead it's their life. - is what i say to drugs, drinks etc.
If they went their cos of problems, then help with their problems, but if they went to drugs etc cos their bored etc leave em.

Legalizing weed creates a new market that will be very profitable (est. 2 billion dollars in Colorado). It will reduce the number of people put into our already over-crowded jails over minor possession arrests, thus reducing a waste in tax dollars spent on trials and holding these people in prisons. This will also help reduce crime in inner cities where illegal marijuana trafficking is a major business for gangs. Its also going to greatly reduce the cost for the "War on Drugs", much of which targets marijuana, which will reduce government spending (albeit by a very small amount).

If your complaint about it is that its not a necessity and just a waste of money, then you should be complaining about televisions, ipods, expensive clothing, snack foods, soda, and millions of other products.

If your complaint is that its a bad influence on people, then you should support bringing back the prohibition of alcohol, which is even worse for someone's health.

Either way, I don't see a logical argument for why it shouldn't be legalized.
