Itachi was against taking on even a weakened Jiraiya because he's not to be underestimated.

But Sasuke just has too many unfair abilities.

If Jiraiya started in SM it would be a different story or if the battle was in a location like where he fought Pain so he could hide until he activates SM.


Also, Sasuke doesn't have Tsukiyomi not sure why people still say that.

Well thinking logically, Sasuke is a natural strategist though not on the level of his brother. He would pretty much give Jiraiya-sama a run for his money. I for sure am certain that Jiraiya-sama won't go down that easily but knowing he has a weakness in Genjutsu he might go down easily if Sasuke can figure that out and exploit it although Sasuke is more of a brute force type of Guy compared to Itachi who preferred to use less drastic measures.

But even if Jman get caught in a Genjutsu, won't Ma & Pa be able to snap him out of it?

I know fanboys and haters overrate and underrate,but being honest with ourselves and using logic,Sasuke owns Jiraiya.

Sasuke's moveset is just to OPed.He still has unknown EMS abilities,and Sasuno&Amaterasu is to OPed.His Tsukyomi is a weaker version,but it still helps.He also has his hawk summoning,Great Fire&Lighting style and he's smart.

But Sasuke is a spammer and Jiraiya has no counter for a Sasuno Arrow or Amaterasu and it takes him wayyyyyy to long to enter SM,but he still loses in SM.Sasuno can easily tank all his attacks

I think Jiraiya's abilities are being underestimated here. Jiraiya is extremely intelligent, he's traveled all around the land of fire, fought many different opponents, and so he knows how to handle himself.

I don't think any other shinobi could have gone into the rain village and fought against Pain without knowledge of his abilities and nearly come out the victor.

The best way to determine a winner is to look at both shinobi's abilities. I'm going to break it down into categories, they'll be intelligence, ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu/kenjutsu, summoning jutsu, and speed.

I'll begin with Sasuke.

Intelligence-

Sasuke: Okay, it's been stated a few times that Sasuke is a genius, by the Uchiha clans standards he is very well renowned. I'm not going to look past the fact that Sasuke is a smart ninja, he has managed to show great analytic skills even in the midst of combat. He managed to figure out Deidara's nature affinity by watching his hand signs and determined they were earth signs. In this same instance used his knowledge of elements to determine that lightning could be used to diffuse these bombs. In the fight against Danzo he had figured out Izanagi's weakness after seeing it a few times, and when he was fighting against the Raikage's overwhelming taijutsu he fused amateratsu into his susano'o as a way to deter the attacks. Sasuke's intelligence has been rated around a 3.5.

Jiraiya: Although it may seem like Jiraiya is a goof, in actuality he is one of the more intelligent shinobi's in all of Naruto. For years Jiraiya traveled all around the land of fire gathering Intel on various villages, shinobi, and organizations that could pose a threat to Konoha and his friends. He was very knowledgeable in various techniques and even showed a high understanding of fuinjutsu and barrier techniques. The fight against Pain demonstrates Jiraiya's complex understanding of combat and shows just how far intelligence can carry you in a battle. Jiraiya's intelligence has been rated a 4.5.

Ninjutsu-

Sasuke: As a member of the Uchiha clan Sasuke is well versed in fire release nature manipulation, even being able to use Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique at a high level when he was very young. Sasuke has been shown to use very large versions of fire release techniques to mount an offensive against his opponents. Also adept with lightning release, Sasuke was taught chidori by Kakashi, and he has thus found a means to manipulate the nature to accommodate his kenjutsu and even uses it as a defense running a surge through his body in the case he is caught.

Through the use of his Mangekyo Sharingan Sasuke has Amateratsu, which is known as the highest level of fire release. He also has Susano'o which creates a gigantic humanoid comprised entirely of chakra that surrounds the user and defends them against attacks. Sasuke's Susano'o can also use a bow which fires an arrow at very high speeds, which was shown to completely pierce through Danzo. Sasuke's ninjutsu is ranked a 5.

Jiraiya: Jiraiya is knowledgeable in a variety of ninjutsu. He can grow and sharpen his hair for offensive and defensive purposes. Jiraiya can use Rasengan, and even managed to develop larger variants of the technique. In terms of element release, Jiraiya has proficient knowledge in multiple types. He can use earth release to create deep swamps to immobilize his opponent, and fire release to unleash large blasts of fire.

Jiraiya is very proficient with barrier based techniques. Some examples of this would include Barrier: Canopy Method Formation, which allows him to detect all movements within a wide radius and block attacks, and Barrier: Toad Gourd Prison, which allows him to trap an enemy inside the belly of a small toad-shaped gourd, the inside of which contains a landscape with a lake of stomach acid. Jiraiya's ninjutsu is rated a 5.

Taijutsu/Kenjutsu-

Sasuke: Sasuke has shown a fairly high level of speed and reflexes and although taijutsu and kenjutsu are not his most adept fighting styles, he has enough skill with them to hold his own against shinobi like Killer Bee(although brief) and Danzo. Sasuke is able to use his lightning release to infuse his sword with the element allowing him to cut through things with more precision and force. With the help of his Sharingan Sasuke is able to see the movements of his opponents before they are made thus allowing him to avoid lethal attacks. Though this has been rendered useless by higher level shinobi such as Killer Bee and Raikage who's speed and movements were too much for Sasuke's Sharingan to detect. Sasuke's taijutsu has been ranked at 3.5.

Jiraiy: While not being his preferred combat method, Jiraiya is still very proficient with taijutsu, capable of stopping some of the individual dogs that split from the Giant Multi-Headed Dog just using his legs. Sage Mode enhanced his strength to the point of destroying the Human Path's eyes with just one kick to the face, while also sending him several metres away. Despite taijutsu not being his main offensive ability, with the use of sage mode Jiraiya's taijutsu has been rated at a 4.5.

JIraiya's also been known to use a number of high level sealing techniques, and is very knowledgeable with them. He created a method of suppressing the Nine-Tails' influence over Naruto through the Chakra-Suppressing Seal, which activates by simply coming into contact with Naruto's body. In addition, he could utilize the Fire Sealing Method to contain even Itachi's Amaterasu within a scroll.

Summoning Technique-

Sasuke: Sasuke has the ability to summon a hawk, which allows him to escape an attack and become very mobile in the event he is in danger. He has also been shown to summon several shuriken from marks on his wrists.

Jiraiya: Jiraiya was known as the toad sage, due to his natural affinity for toads, and his utilization of a number of different toad techniques. He could even summon the nearly indestructible eso****us of a great, fire-breathing toad with Summoning: Toad Mouth Bind. Once the technique had been used to cover the area, Jiraiya could control it as he pleased, and used it to trap most ninja. Due to his training with toads, he even gained the ability to spit oil from his mouth.

Jiraiya had the Toad Flatness, Shadow Manipulation Technique, which allowed him to hide as a shadow, and even attach to the shadow of another ninja to control them. He also had the ability to hide in the belly of a small toad, which could enter most areas undetected. He can also summon Ma and Pa, who have the ability to use frog kata and high level ninjutsu and genjutsu.

Jiraiya could also use senjutsu and through the help of Ma and Pa he can enter sage mode. This transformation allowed him to use natural energy to greatly enhance all of his abilities. Sage Mode greatly increased Jiraiya's physical power, as shown by his ability to send Pain's summons flying and use the extremely powerful ninjutsu Sage Art: Goemon. This form allowed Jiraiya to use stronger versions of his other techniques. An example would include the Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan, a massive variant of Rasengan even larger than his own body.

Genjutsu-

Sasuke: While not as proficient with genjutsu as Itachi, Sasuke has been shown to use very high levels of genjutsu to subdue his opponents. It is unknown whether he has the ability to use Tsukyomi, but most of his genjutsu have been used through the use of his sharingan. Sasuke's genjutsu has been reated a 4.

Jiraiya: As Jiraiya was not adept with genjutsu he relied on Ma and Pa to help him in that aspect. The most powerful genjutsu they could use was a sound genjutsu, Sage Art: Frog Call, this technique releases large, loud and immensely powerful sound waves that effectively annoy, distract and temporarily paralyze any afflicted targets completely. Jiraiya's genjutsu has been ranked as a 3.

Speed-

Sasuke: Sasuke has been shown to have very reactive reflexes and speed, allowing him to close the distance between himself and his opponent very quickly.

Jiraiya: Jiraiya's speed and reflexes are quite high, as seen in his battle against Pain Jiraiya was able to dodge a number of different attacks while attempting to enter sage mode. While in sage mode Jiraiya's speed is increased to the point where he could leap down from a high vantage point and form an attack, before his sandals, which had fallen before had even reached the ground.

When you break it down and look at both shinobi, Jiraiya out matches Sasuke in almost every aspect, besides genjutsu. He is stronger, smarter, and more intelligent than Sasuke. He has years of fighting experience, and knowledge of a wide array of techniques. In sage mode it's hard to see how Sasuke would manage to keep up, and I'm not even bringing stamina into the fight here.

i think that sasuke would def win against jiraya one on one. but the jiraya fanboys i think have good reason to argue. jiraya stood right in itachi AND kisami's face and had them running after one badass move. he went toe to toe against pain being at the extreme disadvantage that pain knew almost everything about his former sensei and jiraya knew nothing about him until it was already to late. with more intel on pain i think jiraya had a good chance of defeating pain even on his home turf. Jiraya died already at least at hokage level. am i the only person who takes that title so seriously? sometimes i feel people forget who elite you have to be to get that title. im not saying jiraya would pull out the win cause i dont think he would. im saying he would put up a fight that the evidence needs to at least be heard.

You want logical I am going to give you logical.

1. Jiraiaya is a very very smart man and I am sure that anything that Sasuke would want to throw at him could be countered by Jiraiya's intelligence alone. Plus Sasuke doesn't have any secrets that can give him a big advantage over Jiraiya like how Nagato did. Nagato and the Rinnegan is way stronger than anything the EMS can bring out and yes that mean even Susanoo. It is very hard for a user to get PS just like it is with the Rinnegan user to make the Gedo Mazou the Juubi again and we all know that is no competition.

2. Jiraiya has a scroll that is able to absorb Sasuke's Amaterasu which could even then be used against Sasuke with great strategy from Jiraiya. So that right there would almost negate that ability. Plus he is also too fast to be hit an arrow while in Sage Mode.

3. With Ma and Pa Jiraiya could put Sasuke in a Genjutsu easily since he can't block sounds with Susanoo as we seen when Kabuto disabled both Sasuke and Itachi. So just as easily as Sauske can put Jiraiya into a Genjutsu the same could be said with Jiraiya with Ma and Pa. Even if Jiiraiya gets into a Genjutsu he would have Ma and Pa or any of his other summons there to knock him out of it pretty quick.

4. Jiraiya has a full and I mean super fullll arsenal of jutsus that would be too much for Sasuke and his spamming. He took out 3 of the Pains that we all linked to each visually through the Rinnegan so I think that he can fight against a EMS. None of Sasuke's summons can match any of Jiraiya's Summons.

5. Itachi himself did not take Jiraiya likely in a all out fight so why should Sasuke just because he has EMS?? Sasuke might have the power but not the skill to use it at all to its full potential or even to subdue someone like say Kabuto with his all superior eyes. Itachi with MS is way more deadly and effective than Sasuke is with the EMS ((off topic what if Itachi had EMS he would be sooo awesome and powerful. I would go as far to say that if he had awakened the Rinnegan like Madara that he would have given Madara a long run for his money in an all out fight, EDO or otherwise)).

I am sorry but just because Sasuke has EMS does not relly make him any more powerful than he was before. It just gives him the option to spam the hell out of his Genjutsu, Amaterasu, and Susanoo until he runs out of chakra. Can he effectively use it like Itachi?? Hell no and that just makes it even more convincing that he would not use it as effectively against a Genius Ninja named Jiraiya. Jiraiya is definitely not a push over and Sasuke does not have too many secrets that he is goig to be an all out problem for Jiraiya.

this is an insult to the perv (where is the logic when you havn't even seen what sasuke can do with EMS) .... when kishi makes him loose to the strongest akatsuki member (lured and trapped), that tells you something but people just keep underrating jiraiya, its sad ....

- naruto was assigned to jiraiya for protection once they knew that naruto was targeted by the akatsuki and may i remind you that they didn't dare take naruto on jiraiya's watch.

am no fanboy, but people forget all these facts and talk in a silly way about this flashy attack and how would this character counter that, this is just wrong .... jiraiya is a far more experienced shinobi with a big arsenal of jutsu, the fight would be overwhelming for sasuke (at some point he will feel lost in there)
