Hashi's battle was 2nd most important, because he was both fighting for the sake of Konoha AND the peace between the Uchiha and Senju.
Minato's was 3rd most important, because he was only fighting for the sake of Konoha.
Hiruzen was the same as Minato's.
Itachi was only sparing his clan the pain of being killed off one by one, as well as causing a war on Konoha in times of weakness.
Naruto was fighting for the world.

Pain should be in the top 5, considering his actions revived many people. His attack on the Leaf was more like a drill, incase Madara comes back from the dead ba ha ha ha

3. itachi - an unsome hero... but the pain he recieves was unimaginable

Minato - sacrificed his life to save the village
Itachi - sacrificed his honour and family for peace(didn't sacrifice his life)
Naruto - defeated pain and turned nagato around so he saved the lives of the villagers
Hashirama - defeated and almost killed madara
Hiruzen - sacrificed his life to defeat orochimaru(I believe konoha would have driven him out eventually anyway)

Jiraiya also deserves credit for getting that intel back to Konoha while sacrificing his life.
Had it not been for that one piece of advice, Naruto probably wouldn't have been able to figure out the true pein.

2.Hashirama-Defeated Madara,was the first hokage of Konoha
3.Minato-Saved Village from obito and 9tails.
4.Kakashi-Kakashi has completed 1,141 official missions in total: 197 D-rank, 190 C-rank, 414 B-rank, 298 A-rank, 42 S-rank(he gived all his life to proteckt the leaf)
5.Nagato/Itachi-Bringed Back all the willagers who was killed during his Fight in the leaf(without that Everyone except Naruto wuld ben Killed
5.Itachi/Nagato-sacrificed his honour and family for peace,did allot for the willage.

I go with the opinion of the villagers and some of my thoughts...
1- Minato(For the first time people of Konoha watched a rampaging Kyuubi destroying them but Minato saved them and their future too)
2- Naruto(After Jiraiya's death it was certain to most that Konoha is on the verge to be extinct but Naruto defeated Pain and made him revive the lost ones)
3- Itachi(Unknown hero, sacrificed his family and honor just for the sake of village. Villagers shouldn't be blamed but Itachi was their hero if they knew what happened actually)
4- Hashirama/Hiruzen(Both defeated strong villains who were trying to destroy Konoha still Hiruzen couldn't save few men while Hashirama protected the village to the fullest)

1) Hashirama - He created the village on his own basically. Most if not all of the trees that surround Konoha were from him.

2) Tobirama - By setting up the Chuunin Exams, he saved Konoha from many potential wars (Chuunin Exams are a substitute for warfare where villages show their prowess through upcoming ninja). Not to mention he put the Uchiha in their place and avoided a potential civil war by using the Konoha Police Force.

3) Naruto - Forget Minato, he's the true hero. If it weren't for him, Minato wouldn't have found it in himself to seal the Kyuubi into anyone else and Kurama would've killed his arse. Jiraiya, however, would've done a better job if Naruto didn't exist. He already saved Konoha before he was a day old. Saved Konoha from Nagato, too (but this is a plot victory, does it even count?).

4) Hiruzen - If it weren't for him, Edo Tobirama would've flooded the world. So in that sense, he's #1. On another note, he was Hokage during a part of the First Shinobi World War, the entire duration of the Second Shinobi World War, and a part of the Third Shinobi World War. Konoha's still standing, this is what we call great leadership.

5) Obito/Itachi - Eh. Obito did most of the killing anyways, Itachi just took the blame. And if it weren't for Itachi and Obito, the rest of the village would've taken down the Uchiha anyways.

Itachi sacrificed his life twice for the good of Konoha and Sasuke. The first time was so that Sasuke would not blame Konoha for executing the innocents along with the guilty among the Uchiha, which Obito foiled, and the second time was to release Edo Tensei.

1. Itachi - massacred his entire clan and family for the sake of konoha.
2. jiraiya - went as far as going back to life from the dead through will power for konohas sake to be able to defeat pain.
3. hiruzen - died protecting konoha and making sure oro stops his invasion by making his hands useless
4. naruto - he pushed himself to the limit and almost to the point of no return just to avenge his teachers and the village that pain crushed. a true avenger.
5. minato - hes 5th because he teleported kurama early in the fight out of the village and died protecting his family, not the village. but he still gets to be in top 5.
