is the next game going to be a sequel or a prequel?

i think i remember seeing something about them doing a prequel. the incident before arkham asylum.how the joker ends up being caught. the prophecy that Azrael tells batman in arkham city was interesting. before batman dies in the final installment. i think they will try to squeeze in a game or 2 before.

i wonder which batman villain could cause something that catastrophic to gotham besides the joker. a collaboration of villains maybe. i dont read comics so i wouldnt know of any stories that involve Azrael.

off topic - i would really like rock steady to take on a open world superman game. similar to that of the arkham series. we need a solid superman game
