You no one think is that even without kurama neruto would have still learnt how to avoid it j man thought him he almost avoided itachi's but itachi notived and prevented him form breaking it though he just learnt it from j man it was not 60 percent had it been he still practiced it he would have mastered it

If you mean a simple genjutsu, yes he has in training when he was a kid, try watching those old episodes.
