Getting a job isn't all that hard, just have to sway the bosses in your favor. It usually helps to be attractive and funny. Not even joking.

Everyone that answered college.. What are you going for?

Just finished an intermediate year of engineering, just waiting on prerequisite approval from the department so that I can enter into my next year. It's the summer break between academic years right now so I'm just getting work experience.

I wanted to get a job after high school (i tried during, but no luck ) Now i have the best job i can get in my area, so my next step for me will be college, but i dont know what classes to take, and what classes will help make my future the way i want it..

What are you doing with your life right now?

It's been 6 months, and i've been through like 3 petty jobs making 7.50 9.00 and 8.50 an hour, but I contacted an Air Force recruiter and I'm thinking about it seriously now.

What about you guys?

Go Coast Guard instead, for one you get to be on boats, and for the other you're directly protecting the country. Also, they don't see that much combat so it's not like you'd be in a lot of danger...no one is stupid enough to fire at the Coast Guard.

Me personally, as soon as I was out of Highschool I decided to spend my time learning since I didn't learn anything in school. I haven't made my fortune yet, but I have a few plans that should pan out, and when they do...

It's bum life for me right now till i start college in January, where I'll get my bachelor's in chemical engineering and hopefully land a job pretty quickly. Avoiding any kind of emotional commitment.

I'm a Dual Enrollment student. Meaning I go to college and high school at the same time. Age-wise (17), I'm a Junior. Credits-wise, I'm halfway through my Freshman year of College.

My plan is to go to the Naval Academy, Clep out of my first two years, finish the next two, and then get my masters for the last two. Spend five years in the Navy, get out, and get a job in Petroleum Engineering.

All of that is my back-up plan though. My real dream is something completely different.

nice thread. I myself just quit my marketing & business communication last year. No energy for it. I had my own appartment until just recently and nowadays living in mom's house looking for potential jobs..but I know a good way to make money so I'm starting that formula soon so I can fulltime train and save money for a trip to usa/canada I guess

Just finished high school, on a four month break until university starts. I want to find a part-time job. I've gone through one training session, and handed out several resumes to local stores, no luck yet. But I have a plan that I hope gets me far. I've just got to hold out till after university and not stress about jobs until then.
The course I want to take, is 3-4 years, and once your done, statistics state 80% of graduates a guaranteed a government job within three months of finishing the course because its a course that not many take. So I'm hoping for a good salary once its over.

After graduating from university I first planned to do my Ph.D.
I gave it up because it wouldn't help me to earn more money afterwards and I didn't want to become like one of those nerds working at my university.
Now I am at the Sales Divison of an Asian company.
