Can any of the Rookies help in this fight?

The army should FINALLY be arriving in the next couple of chapters. Most of it is fodder, except for the Konoha 11. This might be their last chance to do anything in the manga. So what do you expect from them? Does Kishi power them up?

The only one that has any value left is Shikamaru since he is the smartest character around. He can always think of something and help Naruto find a weakness. But other than him, they seem so over-matched. What really can Lee, Sai, or Neji do to help? Never mind Sakura, Hinata or Ino.

They might actually manage some if they work in perfect tandem. But since its not the ninja they are used to fighting alongside I doubt that.

The Rookies have a greater plot shield than Madara, Obito and the Jyuubi. None are dying.

Although Kiba might trip over a rock and get knocked out. Man, does he suck now.

I have to admit that I really want to see the Konoha 11 in action after all this time. Last time was probably in the Chunin Exam Arc when they had a bigger meaning to the story. I can't see them winning against Madara or Obito in any way, but I guess they could help Naruto a bit. Oh, and I want at least one or two of them to die so the story becomes more... realistic.

Don't underestimate the will of fire. It may be controversial but I am predicting the madara will get taken out by k11. It would be a great plot device for Kishi since it would do the following -
1. Give everyone a chance to shine as Kishi stated in a recent interview
2. Allow Kishi to give there characters a bit of a round up for the end of the manga
3. Demonstrate to power of teamwork and the will of fire

Number 3 is especially important since madara basically laughed in tsunades face when she said not to underestimate it. What better way to send out madara but with the thing he called worthless - that's poetic justice right there.

I think they will do something along the lines of distract the Jubi or to help Naruto against Madara. Now when I say help against Madara I mean take all of their effort to accomplish one small goal which will be to get Naruto the Uchiha War Fan. Once he has that he csn repel the Perfect Susanoo and Maybee fight the Jubi. Also this is where Madara's arrogance comes to bite him. He will threat the K11 as dirt and lose his fan due to Shikamaru's planning...at least that's what I hope happens :/

Yeah, I think Shikamaru's shadow posession technique might help to momentarily stop Obito (though Obito's Kamui can transport him away without having to move any muscles). Ino's mind switch jutsu might be able to control Obito as well, but his body likely isn't going to be able to fight Madara too well.

Lee, Sai, Kiba and Neji are all basically worthless. None of them are going to have the taijutsu powers that the Raikage or Tsunade have, and both Raikage and Tsunade were defeated by Madara at the same time. As a group they may be able to be a short distraction, but they are fodder otherwise.

Sakura may be one of the best medica-lnin left on the battlefield if Tsunade really is dead. She can help to fix up Kakashi, Gai and (most importantly) Bee. Naruto, because of his healing powers, is basically immune from needing her help. The fox's ability to give out big chakra boosts may make the need for a medical-nin unimportant.

Hinata is worthless, except perhaps as a way to motivate Naruto (he gets stronger when he's protecting people he cares about, etc). Her Byakugan might be useful in tracking or analyzing Obito or Madara, but Neji's eyes are probably better anyway so she's double-worthless.

Choji can get big and strong, but we've already seen that his max strength is no match for the Gedo Mazo (which is now even more powerful and "complete"). Shino's chakra bugs get overloaded by huge amounts of chakra, and they don't get any huger than the Juubi. He'd be useful perhaps against Obito (getting one bug on Obito before he disappears or becomes intangible will allow the bug to stay on him, in theory) and perhaps in gathering battlefield intelligence, but that's it.

Overall, I'd say that the konoha 11 are going to serve no other purpose besides some emotional support and perhaps a temporary distraction. What we really want to see is Sasuke and his group come to the battlefield. Sasuke would be able to offer some real support, if he were in the mood to do it.

Chouji has shown to be the most destructive after Naruto.
Shikamaru can think of any solution or plan formulation.
Sai has the best sealing jutsu.
Neji and Hinata know the chakra system and can shut it down.
Shino is just cool.
Ino and her body transfer helps out shika and chouji she can also heal.
Kiba and Tenten can just die.

If they attack together with Naruto and Bee they could probably hurt the jubi.

Choza and Choji could be useful too. They'd probably get smashed, but at least they could protect a lot of people from 1 hit..

Tsuchikages granddaughter would be useful. She could demolish her chakra reserves into lava and spit it over the jubi. The lava would hurt anyone. Perhaps if she hit its eye though that is doubtful.

Shikamaru obviously would be useful too.

I doubt Ino could make a mind-body switch with the Jubi, but that would be so troll if Kishi pulled that one off...

If Darui has somehow got chakra again, he too would have some pretty useful jutsu.

Given that the kages survive, they would of course also be useful. Especially Gaara.

Oh yeah, if 20.000 shinobi shower the jubi in kunai with explosive tags, it would at least occupy one tail I guess xD

OT: I think the will of fire might get used in this fight, not as a power support, but as moral support. As it has already been mentioned, Naruto gets stronger when his closest are in danger.

Maybe Lee if he learns how to open up the 7th and 8th gate, maybe pushing the 8th gate open if he sees Guy about to get killed. Also maybe Choji, he uses his ability to burn practically all the fat from his body and turns into a slim jim with a fist full of chakra to lay into the Juubi with. Also Shikamaru cuz he's super smart, anyone else is pretty much fodder I think. Unless the Juubi has a fear of bugs...Shino and all.
