dude Rock Lee nearly killed Gaara using the 5th of the 8 gates. he only survived because his gourd was actually made of sand. just imagine if Gai opened up his 5th, 6th, or 7th gate... he would of tore Gaara a new one!

Highly unlikely. You still have Kakashi, Guy, Yamato, Tsunade, K11, Anbu, etc. Also, if worst comes to worst I believe Danzo was still in the village at that point in time.

k11 takes down gaara mid diff... Lee in five gates, neji and hinata would find weak a point to attack, sakura has super strength to break throug garaa sand, shikamaru the brain, chuji butterfly mode, sai, ino mind transfer. Shino could easly snick in his bugs into gaara's sand, akamaru and kiba also might be used as a perfect distraction to get to gaara.. Not that i underestimate gaara but i think k11 takes him down mid diff
