Sasuke still being on lookout duty after the first Konoha ninja showed up see's a large amount of Chakra streching out into the clouds via Sharingan..

Being able to cover vest destances in short periods of time easily makes his way to the source of chakra before the jutsu finishes. this is because the jutsu takes so long to use and the range on which its sealing is so Vast.. Then, now behind and out of View of his opponent, Sasuke see's the Red Clouds on his cloak instantly indecating the opponent is Akatsuki..

Sasuke by making a few handseals causes the ground under the opponent to form 3 lions. these lions do not disrupt the ground as they "swim" through the ground and up to the opponent. As Nagato is finishing his sealing jutsu these Lions will lep from the ground sourounding him and attacking him..
