Did anyone noticed?

From the beginning of the battle of Naruto and colleagues with Tobi till the recent chapter 610, I wonder how many times Hachibi's tentacles were cut-off. But we still see its tails grown maybe its growth rate is fast enough to get cut again after few attacks.
Then why Kishi cuts off Hachibi's tails every now and then? Just because it has the ability to grow again?
What do you guys think?

the tailed beats are made out of chakra .... so technically they are just reformed with chakra as the chakra regenerates then the taiils regenerate as u can see in the last chapter kuramas tails were cut off but are already regenerating

Well a "real" squid or octopus sometimes use its tentacles to escape, at least if it doesn't use ink. So I would suppose they regrow pretty fast. After all they are just made of chakra...
