He could always absorb he doesn't even have to touch just look at the object, but yes now sadly he can warp objects out.

no he didnt we all no bee can transform from a tentical he made a tentical he kamuied that he kamuied out a hole tailed beast theres a big difference

I'm pretty sure kakashi always had kamui remember he Got deidaras right arm and also he was goin to use it against tobi before he got revealed but tobi said dnt bother such jutsu won't work that's b]ecause at t..he time we didn't know. Who he was (obito) thats why it wouldnt work kakashi then (speaking of currrnt fight)analyze and confirmed that :only one person could stop his kamui (kakashi try take out jibuu with. Kamui but fail cuz tobi stop it then tobi got reveald. Now then kakashi found out where kamui sends whatever it pull into what dimension cuz obito send him there so he just use kamui on himself safely so now he can use his s/t and kinda teleport things Where he wants safely. ...Now what I find amuzin is if kakashi use kamui on deidaras arm sends it to the same dimension as obitio who at the time was deidaras akatski partner would tobi be like hehehe I got ur arm lol
