Windows 8? Seriously?
I find Windows 8 very, bad.
Why? Im a student developer and my career is being a 3D Designer. So what's the problem? Windows 8 is DIFFICULT for us developers to use. The coding of it is way different.
Big companies especially gaming companies had problems with this, Mojang makers of Minecraft found it terrible. EA games released lots of complaints, nobody was happy with it.
I think Microsoft are making them a little too simple, when complex things contain many knowledge.

Re: Windows 8? Seriously?
I'm still using Windows XP, since I couldn't be bothered to upgrade.
I haven't really been impressed with the latest Windows OS versions, though.

Re: Windows 8? Seriously?
I might start studying game developing. I have some interesting ideas, do you recommend it to someone that hasn't started developing in the slightest? My only achievement was running a game server with 1000 members or so, learning the basic of 3d modeling, running the forum, steering staff, and a little bit server management.. I'm a huge noob at it so I want to know if you have any class-mates that also started from scratch over there.
Thanks in advance
p.s.: damn u bill gates.

Well that's a really important factor in the industry. Since Companies take mostly experience over knowledge. Though qualifications are VERY important, even the smallest such as computer literate classes. But you are moving in the right direction.

Doesn't look like advice more like something very obvious

Re: Windows 8? Seriously?
You're supposed to skip every other one. Windows 7 is good, so Windows 8 must be bad. Before 7, Vista was bad, but XP was good. This is a trend that has been going on for quite a while and it never fails.

Re: Windows 8? Seriously?
I very much dislike windows 8 as well just because it looks like a tablet and It has many compatibility issues with the games I play. I am also not used to it on a comp screen. Doesn't even seem like you can have a desktop. Microsoft has out done their self for is what I think is the worst Windows I have ever seen.

Re: Windows 8? Seriously?
Windows 8 isn't terribly bad, its an update I guess. The only reason why I don't like it is because its too much like a tablet instead of a laptop/computer. Really loses the point when you think about it. Its really just a tablet with a keyboard and a desktop.

Re: Windows 8? Seriously?
First off: EA was one of a few who were actually optimistic about W8.
Yes, Windows 8 seems to suffer a bit from an identity crisis, having to switch between the old-fashioned and metro interface between tasks. The upside is, Windows 8 is lightning fast. Haven't had any real complaints here.
