Itachi has been summoned in the anime a long long time ago, so this was no spoiler. It's a prologue to the war arc that is why Deidara is also their. So it's the first time that Naruto and co. are confronted with Itachi, but we've already seen it.

Oh.. then I remembered wrong hahaha sorry. the timeline got blur here, I guess, I shouldn't follow both anime and manga.
For ex. I alawys think about the seven of the mist, hearing the the 7Oops song (the manga was there when the anime had this song :'D)

Atleast now we know where Kabuto Yakushi collected those DNA samples from.

The reason why he attacked that village was; because he had to test his Edo Tensei army.
If you re-watch the episode, you see that Uchiha Itachi, Nagato and other powerful shinobi weren't summoned.
Yakushi Kabuto had some ''technical problems'' with his army.

They spent more time on the past of the two kids than they did on the fight. 2/5. Also as I expected despite fighting Kabuto and Edo Akatsuki Naruto was still too stupid to use his Sage Mode.

They spent more time on the past of the two kids than they did on the fight. 2/5. Also as I expected despite fighting Kabuto and Edo Akatsuki Naruto was still too stupid to use his Sage Mode.

I don't think they want to rush all the action so quickly, I think it's defiantly coming next episode. But remember Naruto still has to draw out natural energy for sage mode, I know thats not the case right now in the manga.

Guys just wait till the movie itself is finished, then watch it all.

It's not a movie, it's an arc with 6 episodes that comes out every week until the end of December. If you want to take the whole story in all at once yh you can do that but if it was a movie, then it would be released as a movie. I do agree that it could be a movie that was scrapped but yh.

Nice episode overall: very good animation, good story combined with nice fights. But the drawing of the faces and their expressions was well...strange. I saw some of the character designs of part 1 recently and that made me feel kinda nostalgic. Those designs were alot better than the current ones. Especially their eyes in my opinion.

The only reason i'm watching this filler is because of Hidan and Hayate. I missed them SOOOOO MUUUCCHHH. Especially Hayate. *sniffle* Too bad he had to die. I'll never forgive Baki. Anyways, I liked the animation, especially for the fight. I wish my computer didn't lag so much during it. Hate what they did to Kabuto though. Seems like it could be an interesting and emotional story with the kids, just needs a lot more background. All in all, this looks just like a movie, except stretched out into episodes. Kinda wish they stuck with canon, but at least it's not another Adventures at Sea arc (gag, choke)

+ It was a good thing that the other reincarnated ninjas, like Nagato, Itachi, Asuma were. . . . . . . . . umm, nonfunctional. :y

- What the hell was that light orb thing that was Yamato holding?!
- Why is Kabuto's hair style like that, also his face is not as should be, you know with Orochimaru's cells. . . . . . . . . :shrug:

Part 1 character designs where better I agree, shippuden has changed animation multiple times, they need to stick to how they done it in the naruto's birth episode but I guess that must be a lot of hard work and expensive

Posted one of hayate's cool moons in post #35 man I miss that guy. I don't know whyy kabuto looks that weird maybe it's the animators saying guys this is not part of the original story for anime only viewers.

Like a made for tv movie based off a show... The chronological progression does not make a ton of sense with the surrounding episodes. There could have been more forethought on when to air certain points for more feel. Not that I would know what Tokyo 7 viewers actually get to see. It's interesting on it's own, like The Hidden Shinobi Said.

Now, getting serious, I really did liked it.

Animation was good (a lot better than the Pein arc, as a matter of fact) not excellent. But I still enjoyed it, better than other times.

Fights looked like in the old day! I mean, TAIJUTSU, YES! (Dat Sakura punch ; fangirling again)

And we had that chill moments as well, but that weren't like abundant. And it was needed for the continuity.

We got to see old characters, new characters.

It was really, really nice!

I honestly have no grudge on fillers, I only skip them because at the time when I was catching up to Naruto episodes I only skipped the fillers to watch them for later on my free time.


OT: I honestly enjoy this filler, it may have a few rough edges considering another anime studio is handling this one, But overall it has good graphics and anime/movie visuals.

Like many have realised if filler was counted as sakura's character she wouldn't be useless. The fillers use the feats kishi has gave her.

The reason why sakura is mainly useless in the main storyline is because the main story line revolves around Naruto and Sasuke, and we all know what happens to sakura when sasuke is involved. When it is fillers she is fighting some random people who she is not emotional attached to so we see what sakura could potentially be like in the actual story (if it wasn't about sasuke)

The animation is very movie like, I seriously think this was a scrapped movie, they normally always do a movie after an important arc in cannon. But this time the latest movie was very different something they have never done before. So this might of been the movie they would of done.

Would explain the fighting as well, so well choreographed.

1) So was I man, the first filler I saw was that run one in the original naruto after the tsunade arc before the sasuke retrieval arc, I was like what happened to the story?!?!

2) Ohhh I wasn't paying much attention at that part, I was like come on come on get interesting. That is obviously orb no jutsu the famous jutsu of hashirama.

They haven't shown any nagato or itachi feats, those edo's didn't work. We're all waiting for that fight but its next year so we're making do with this to ease our wait.

I'm pretty meh about this ep and arc. Problems I have with this episode:

- Kabuto's hairstyle
- Kishi trolling us hard with the Akatsuki not being revived. In a way, I saw it coming. If they were brought back successfully there would be no filler.
- The new animation. This DEFINITELY took me by surprise, it reminds me of an OVA's animation or opening. Not sure how I feel about this
yet..


- Those kids near the end made me skip soon as I saw them.
- Kabuto's hairstyle
- Sakura's power is over exaggerated. I know fillers venture further away from the manga than the normal anime, but come on.
