I always see people refer to certain Captains as higher tier, mid tier, or lower tier, can you guys enlighten me with the strength of the Captains?

Well...bleach is worst than Naruto when it comes to ranking people. 1st captain had so much hype and got raped in two battles. I only have hope for Unitake, Shushui, and the healer captain....

EDIT: Hopefully Squad zero isn't all hype. They seem like teachers to some of the captains.

I guess if you wanted to explain their strengths I did a poor job. Yama is obviously the strongest....Tenza no tachi.

Unohana easily scares other captains, is a kido and kendo (sword play) specialist, and according to the author is second strongest after Yama

Shunsui is the third strongest stay wise, is intelligent, and has an extremely versatile Shikai...who knows about his bankai.

Instead of continuing on I'll simply say the strongest tier captains are those who have few exploitable weaknesses. For example Shunsui, Unohana, and Yama all keep their cool, have little to no weakness other than being overpowered.

Toshiro for example has a loose temper as well as his banksi csn be weakened by fire (couldn't be used during Zanka no Tachi)

Kommamura (fox head) gets hurt if his banksi is hurt. People with both strength and speed easily defeat him.

Soi Fon prom to anger outbursts.

Stronger ones like Kenpachi tank through attacks, Mayuri reattaches limbs.


To say it once more. The strongest captains have swords whose Shikai/banksi have little weaknesses and strong mental composure where the weaker tiers have bankai with huge weaknesses or are prone to being taunted.

ya she has been with yamamoto longer than any other of the current captains (way longer) and she really scares the other captains, so that has got to mean something right (feats are not always what counts). she looks peaceful most of the time but am sure she is very very strong.

HAHAHA yeah I sympathize with her pacifistic nature . The whole concept of her being more than capable of fighting, but instead choosing to calmly talk out a situation is great. Also really funny when she simply restates her comments and people get scared .

When she arrives to heal Chad and talks down Rudebone (arrancar w/ deer or antelope skull for a head) was one of her best moments. It was basically her saying, "I'm healing these two, but if you choose to come at me you will die."

Edit: Just a random fact, but apparently when she gets serious she unbraids her hair (according to an interview from Kubo)

I guess it doesn't matter what he is.....He isn't human which is kind of odd. Glad I haven't been tripping and he was actuslly a bear. For a second I was like mind= blown !

I constantly see her underrated, but it is done for s good reason considering she hasn't done a single thing. And yeah got to love how kindness can be used to make you more intimidating than Kenpachi .

Her gentle approach/ calm demeanor is my personality and having both that personality and the strength to back it up is awesome. Hinata's gentle nature is what draws me to her Naruto wise....sadly she doesn't have much to show strength wise (same reason Unohana has...not showing anything).

I've always loved how Byakuya doesn't toy with enemies, but instead dispatches them. Also I love senbonsakura! Bankai equals Shikai times 1,000 no big deal . While it'd be nice to see Byakuya back on his feat it would be dissapointing for me if the three being brought to the Palace get random powerups....would kind of be like a smack to faces of Unohana, Ukitake, and Shunsui (as if the Zero Squad isn't enough of one ).

Kubo is not the type to give random power ups. I meant they have to become stronger somehow if they are to stand a chance in future battles. Rukia may achieve bankai. Renji may learn new attacks, so far he only has his cero-like attack. Dunno about Byakuya

As it stands right now I'm thinking it's something like;

1- Shunsui (he might be scared to piss Unohana off but to me it seems more like that's done for comedy rather than actual fear)
2- Unohana
3- Mayuri
4- Shinji
5- Kensei
6- Ukitake (the guy is pretty much always sick.. hasn't shown anything impressive yet)
7- Rose
8- Komamura
9- Soi-Fon
10- Hitsugaya

Both Kenpachi and Byakuya are not able to fight at the moment so they're not included.

Why did I put Mayuri third? He's got intel on all the captains, he knows their strengths and weaknesses and pretty much always comes prepared. Sure he lost to Ishida but let's not forget the immense power boost Ishida got when breaking his glove (there's no telling where he'd scale in that form). Shinji and Kensei both rank high due to their hollow form but also their shikai alone is pretty badass (Kensei has shown his Bankai but except for that huge explosion we don't exactly know how or what it does).

Ukitake is pretty much always sickly and can't fight at full strength, his fight against hollowfied Shiba Kaien made him look weak aswel. Rose hasn't shown that many impressive things either but I still rate him a tad below Ukitake due to his hollow form. His shikai however... I can't see that many people getting caught by that really.

As for Komamura, Soi-Fon and Hitsugaya... they don't know how Komamura's Bankai works (assumingly they don't) and because of that I think he'd beat them. Sure Soi-Fon has her speed but we say Komamura's Bankai can swing fast enough to hit a hollowfied Tosen which should be around her speed. Soi-Fon's Bankai can also be easily avoided (assuming it's not a heat seaking missile ). Hitsugaya altho a fan favourite is just... he's still young and acts rashly, he constantly makes stupid decisions and gets himself hurt way too early in fights..

Oh and.. god I hope Renji doesn't get some new powers wish Kubo would just stop drawing him really. He's such a useless character and pretty much doesn't serve any purpose except the occasional rescue of Rukia. I do remember thinking Zabimaru was a pretty cool sword but his Bankai... never liked it.

Oh and did anyone else notice Kubo just keeps drawing Ichigo in his bankai mode when he ain't even fighting anymore, whats the deal man?
